Twoheadeddog now has the deluxe GiTs for preorder on their site. I didn't want to wait, but for those on the fence in the USA you can save some money on shipping.

"Escape From L.A.” score coming to vinyl for 1st time
http://modern-vinyl.com/2017/04/03/esca ... -to-vinyl/

I guess I'll finally have to give this movie another view. I haven't watched it since leaving the theater 20 years ago. Anoter $40+ soundtrack though, this is getting out of hand
speaking of, any retailers in the US carrying Bates Motel? $54 shipped is hard to justify for me.

Thanks for the heads up @blindguy. I'll be interested in that, though hopefully the price comes down a bit. It's a shame it doesn't come with a download card, I've held off buying it on CD as the Milan version is too incomplete and the La La Land one too expensive. I've never bought anything on the Real Gone label before - for some reason I had them down as one of these 'grey' release labels.

I'd advise against that re- watch though, nothing good can come of it. It's ok for 90% of the film, but the low points stay with you. Every time I've seen it, it goes down in my estimations!

Real Gone music have done some cool stuff recently. They are legit. ROTLD, Demon Knight come to mind.. They always end up making more "limited editions" when stuff sells out.

Speaking of Demon Knight... The cover is sooo poorly designed / scaled-up that it is OK for people to think that it is a bootleg. You can barely read the text!

The 3 X Lp release of the amazing raymond Scott manhattan research Inc. Has been reissued by Music On Vinyl.

The original came out in 2001 on Basta.

Full of some of the earliest electronic music to be used in American film and television. I'm very familiar with the original CD release and would say if you are in to vintage electronica this is essential. I was always disappointed I didn't get it on vinyl back in the day.

Annoyingly reissued on colored vinyl (why!!) I often dig fancy looking vinyl but this looks ugly and really doesn't tie into the release.
However it is remastered so my sound better than the original.

Do I like it? Yes, yes I do.
Very Windham Hill / ECM in the best possible way :)

My #1 TV score holy grail is now a reality. It's not on vinyl (yet), but oh man:

Laurel Records proudly announces the release of Music From THE RIFLEMAN® Television Series composed by Herschel Burke Gilbert. The wildly popular Series ran from 1958 through 1963. Reruns continue to this day. Conceived, produced, and directed by the team of Jules Levy, Arthur Gardner, and Arnold Laven, the show gained a devoted following. Particularly popular was the music, which was composed by veteran Hollywood composer Gilbert who had earned 3 Academy nominations for his film scores. So popular was the music that Gilbert occasionally received more fan mail for his scoring than the show’s star, Chuck Connors.

This 2 CD set contains cues originally written for the series (including the original and revised end titles) remastered from the original audio tapes plus a bonus CD of extras, including selected cues from Gilbert’s film scores used in the series, as well as vocals and extra materials not used on-screen. A 24-page booklet explains the history of the scoring and has lyrics to The Rifleman Song, which has never been heard before this release. Series video is available from LGL-Productions (http://www.TheRifleman.net). This long awaited CD set of the original music is a must have for any fan of THE RIFLEMAN®

Available from Laurel Records: http://www.LaurelRecords.com ($25.99)

I honestly know nothing about this music and am only nominally aware of the show itself, but it truly warms my cockles to see someone's uniquely personal grail like this get released. Even on CD.
Congrats, Brother Blue!

Now if someone would just release Faltermeyer's Fletch so you savages cold be happy for me...

That is so weird, bought an original sealed Fletch cassette only yesterday via Discogs. The world needs a decent Faltemeyer collection to be released.

That's a wicked fun soundtrack, Vape. I have it on LP. What I've been wanting for two decades is the score. For some reason, it has taken thirty plus years to get most of Faltermeyer's decade-defining music to be released in full. Heck, aside from a small handful of tunes, his Beverley Hills Cop 1 & 2 scores just came out six months ago for the first time in any format. I recently read where he said the studio(s) had held the music back for some reason even though companies had tried to license it multiple times over the years. He was potimistic now that the BHCs had been released that more would follow. I did hear the Top Gun score is getting a full release from La La Land so I'm holding out hope Fletch won't be too, too far behind. I mean thank God Jan Hammer is persistent or we wouldn't have any semblance of his music for Miami Vice outside of the main theme and three or four other tunes. And he had to release it himself through his website! Universal still won't pony up all of the cuts. Can you imagine if he (or someone, anyone!) could gain access to the complete, original Miami Vice music?

Sigh.

For the love of Ike, would somebody please sort this out? @mateo may well be hurtin' most for a lack of HF, and the biggest cheerleader round these parts, but he sure ain't alone.

As an aside, does anyone know if he ever faced any comeback for his fairly blatant >aherm< 'riff' on Carpenter's DUKE ARRIVES theme from EFNY? I know JC is quite the litigious son of a gun!

I'm listening to my bootleg Fletch score right now. I won't be controlled. I cannot be stopped.
