Big surprise today when I found like 20 De Wolfe libraries at the local shop, even better they were nearly all $5 except one or two. The Sliced Orange was the highest at 15 along with one called "Alternatives". I grabbed a few and the rest on hold but not sure if I'll take them... I sampled a bunch and the rest seemed underwhelming.

The ones I took were Alternatives, Hot Night, Live Free, Free Style, Super Ride, Man of the Moment, Bumper Bundle, Jack Trombey Orchestral N.1, and one called Interlace on the Rouge label.

I left Movie Go-Round Vol 2, Pastoral Music, Guitar Lines, Sight & Sound, High & Counting, Viewpoint, Cantilena, Traveller, Moods for Classical Guitar, Cuts for Commercials 1, World of Percussion & Tuned Percussion 2, and one called Kites on the Rouge label.

Should I go back and get any of those? They were all $5 each. I don't know much about the de Wolfe libraries.

Good Lord, Tex, the self control! Splurge, man. Splurge! It's not like you've got a kid on the way for crying out loud.

Eagerly awaiting $1,000,000's nightly check in.

I like smooth. And that cover is...ridiculous.

Mr Trunk's re-press of Time Signals has arrived, a little battered but perfectly playable.

Some lovely electronic sounds yet much more percussive in places than I'd imagined...

...but then I hadn't fully twigged Herr Weiss's background included him being the drummer of Niagara

@Spun: nice to see the Time Signals repress. i could not resist to grab a copy because Trunk releases have great liner notes usually. looking forward to get it.

making my way through about 40-50 Selected Sound records right now. damn, so many treasures i've been sleeping on. the title of this one describes my feelings about it exactly. awesome fuzzy jazzy funky psychedelic jams by the great Kovac...

got my Time Signals repress through but i did not have time to break the seal yet. the liners are interesting again and knowing that Time Signals was used for a porn movie with Seka is a big fun fact. will try to get the DVD for sure! curious how the music matches the scenes. must be a wild one, haha! it is also nice to know that cues from the Nymphe record on Selected Sound have been used for this particular porno flic. after reading this i rushed to the shelf and threw the record on the platter instantly. looking at the record closely i can understand why they used it as background music for porn. track titles like Traumfrau (woman of your dreams?), Nymphe (nympho?), Hammersonate (hammer sonata?), Oiltime (lubricant?) and Straps (lingerie?) are pretty obvious allusions if you ask me.

the title track made it on the Music Library 10" for a good reason...

where the hell did yesterday posts go? probably disappeared in a Unknown World??

anyway... still playing the electronic experimentals of Gerhard Trede. i made it from a Untamed World to the Unknown World within one day, haha! really enjoy these albums a lot. Untamed World is the funkier progressive one while Unknown World is more mysterious. really funny describtion on the back cover. the cues are suitable for giant ants, bird men, cancer research, exotic landscape and meditation. probably not your average library. i can imagine this being a score to a weird horror B movie...

who the hell is Otto Weiss? maybe related to Klaus Weiss?? his father? uncle?? whatever! this record is great! super smooth compositions. i would not be surprized to find these in a vintage prno flic one day. very similar to Soft Illusions on Bruton. one if you need to vibe out. the title of the record says it all...

after playing the Liuto pressing i decided to let the St Germain Des Pres pressings go and thought this is a good reason for some library record porn.

It's real and it's spectacular. A hat tip to $1,000,000.00 for the assist. I truly got a great price on this making it sound all the sweeter.

still busy making my way through the crazy world of Gerhard Trede...

this one is sought after by producers and beat diggers because of the phasing drums on side B. of course it is nice and the cues kick ass when you play it out loud but for me side A is where it's at. great abstract fuzzy cues. the people at Waxidemy share my opinion (or i should rather say i share theirs). found this review of the record yesterday: http://waxidermy.com/phasing-drums-electronic-sounds/

had these records for a long time but never paid them much attention. the more Trede stuff i am listening to, the more i claim what underrated genius he is. check him out...

Yup, I blame $1,000,000.00 for my relatively newfound Borreani obsession as well. The difference being I've not yet found a copy worth the cost of purchase and import. Nice score, Dollar!
