Nice selections @vi-res

@deaf, thanks for schooling me on this vampire flute record. Much like @Nathan, I'm scared to listen in case it becomes an expensive 'must have'!

So basically, I've become kind of obsessed with anime and tokusatsu vinyl. Apologies for the slew of anime bgm and men in spandex to turn up in this thread :D

A local record show gave up this and another Varese Sarabande title.
I'm really excited to add this to my collection

Seconded! Very nice spin, Tim. I really wish I had more of Mr Silvestri's scores on wax. You may have prompted some filling of my Discogs cart ;)

A personal favourite of mine, unreleased thus far, is the wonderful soundtrack+score for early Costner buddy/road/adventure comedy Fandango. I love that movie.

Thank you, @Mateo. Great to get to the truth behind these tracks, and hopefully this will help unearth some other projects by these composers. Cheers!

Everybody is tearing it up in here this weekend, which is always great to see. I am still listening to Star Trek: TMP, highly recommended.

My pleasure, Deaf. Glad it is of use to folks.

PS - Static is straight flaying it up in here right now. Great spins, mang.

@Mateo - I am actually glad to hear this not some secret Yuji Ohno project, as you have now lead me to discover Kentaro Haneda, who is the man on the keys on the entire album. He seems to be deep in anime soundtracks, and I am going to mining those albums for more treasures. Also, Kimio Mizutani is wielding the killer axe! His psych album A Path Through Haze seems to be highly regarded, and features some of the same musicians.

Lastly, check out this Godzilla March 45 by one of the other composers, Hiroshi Takada. I must find this one! So much new research material, thanks again.

I think I will be pulling out all my Alessandroni LP's this week though to celebrate the life of the Maestro. I was just remarking last week about being so thrilled to pick up the Indio Black 45 which features his well-known guitar and whistling, along with I Cantori Moderni...

@deaf

That 'A Path through haze' is partly composed by Masahiko satoh composer of Belladonna of sadness.

I see Hiromasa 'colgen' suzuki is also involved a bit of a Japanese jazz legend, he composed the OST for the anime TV series Toriton boy of the sea.

Also I see space cobra on kentaro's discogs credits. Which make sense in that that article states a track from kindaichi got used for space cobra. Need to find out which one now.

I have a a few of kentaro haneda's anime involved lp's but not any space cobra, yet.
Good stuff but not on the same tip as mystery Kindaichi.
