I can't believe there are still copies of The Visitor in stock over at Mondo, even if they pressed thousands of them. I need to bust it out again soon for another listen.

It's outrageous. Easy top three release for Mondo.

An odd soundtrack to an odd film: "Uzumaki" (or "Vortex" or "Spiral"). A town is beset by spirals, and bodies start to mutate into spiral forms. The feeling of the music is a mix of light whimsy and spooky dread.

@reddye6 : Uzumaki is a great little movie, I remember stumbling upon it on the web when I was discovering japanese horror cinema, some 15 years ago when I was a money-less student. I can't say I remember the music though.

For me, it's one of those soundtracks where I'm always expecting it to be one kind of music -- I remember the light, quirky music -- and I forget about the different things going on (slow, creepy piano, odd voices). I think I also saw that the entire movie is on YouTube, for those wishing to see it.

That movie looks proper weird. I can't tell if it's any good, but I definitely put it in the queue.

Been listening to the output Pinball Music have reissued digitally on Spotify. I'm not certain what catalogue they have put out but mostly it's Flipper titles. Maybe they are a subsidiary of Flipper.

Been enjoying Tamponi's Un volto una storia, the three part series of Iacoucci's L'avventura and also a great Ferrara with the album Ritmico. I have collected them all in a playlist, highly recommend those. Tamponi's music is so versatile and fresh for me.

Uzumaki is based on the horror manga books by Junji Ito, he's created lots of great horror books, check um out. There is a cool omnibus for uzumaki and gyo.

Copy that, Em Dub. Will do. I'm a sucker for a good picture book.

I like this, too. It's quite good. Pilotpriest was supposedly in heavy rotation by the folks doing FX for The Force Awakens.

testing out a CD changer I purchased for a friend with this
6CD Compilation
Jerry Goldsmith – Jerry Goldsmith At 20th Century Fox
@Varese Sarabande – VCL 0204 1028
2004
This was made available through the Varese Sarabande online CD club, limited to 1500 copies. This would make a pretty awesome vinyl box set.

@ScoJo - The Pilotpriest album is indeed sounding good. Thanks for posting that. It will be interesting to see how it translates to a 3LP album.

I am revisiting all things Aquarius right now:

There is an ambient track on here called Fish Dreams that is remarkable and classic Boswell, and I don't think it's on the Flick LP:

Short, but great. Really like all of the releases From WG so far. Good interview with TG on the 5/5/78 podcast recently. Sounds like a good guy, glad to see him get the attention he deserves.

I loved the first Burton film. I was just too young to see it in the cinema (first '12' rated film in the UK), but was majorly into it - the look, the music - Elfman and Prince. I'm not the biggest Elfman fan, but I love this film so much that the memories lift it up to be one of my favourites.

Agreed. I think this film hit a lot of us at around the same age back then. It was one of the soundtracks I bought on cassette tape with my hard-earned paper route cash.

In some ways I miss having to save up for an album, it felt like more of an event, there was more riding on it if you made a bad choice, and you'd play it over and over either way. These days even albums I really like might only get a couple of plays before the next one comes along. Oh, nostalgia for the old days - I've reached that age!

It's been a few months since I last heard this:
