Hmm... I'd say y'all are a copy light there then, son. Ain't nuthin' sweet as a triple-dip.
Unless it's a triple dip in a waffle cone. ;)

Found this on ebay. All tracks are recreations which is not mentioned anywhere on the cover, rear or centre pages. I've been fooled.

@vi-res I was similarly caught out by a Silva Screen John Carpenter compilation. It didn't make it clear at any point in the listing that it was 'covers', and I assumed being Silva Screen it would be originals. The only positive was that it didn't cost too much.

@vi-res, absolutely. It really surprised me that Silva would be peddling cheap cover albums.

Digital listen this morning (already listened to Wojciech Golczewski's Relay_SAT_01 and Repeated Viewing's Dangerous Obsession.

I'd be quite excited for Waxwork's release of this if I want terrified of the cost of getting a 3LP Waxwork in the UK!

@chief-

What's that PilotPriest like? I must seek samples, def intrigued.

Currently listening to digital promo of imminent VISITORS FROM THE GALAXY ost via Fox & His Friends. Splendid stuff - 80s Yugoslavian sci-fi stylings, a must for analogue synth heads!

@ScoJo, I like it. It's quite varied, quite upbeat in a way. I picked it up on Bandcamp, worth a look.

The digital version is about 2 and a half hours long, so it's a bit much in one sitting. It might suit a 3LP format to break it up a little. I don't have much to compare it to other than Wojciech Golczewski's recent releases, but that's purely on a spacey/synthy level; it's a different vibe. You'll be able to make your own mind up through Bandcamp.

I'm switching to:

It's been a great day for records here. Coltrane,BB King and Christine.

This sounds as if it could be off cuts from Halloween lll, obviously the same synthesisers were incorporated. Probably the most minimal Carpenter score to date.

There is some nice music playing on your digital systems people.

@vi-res: I also have the Theme Horror cd. Haven't played it in 10 years. Did not remember it contained recreations.

@ScoJo - remember this cut from Tron: Legacy? ;)

I thought it was Daft Punk like most others.

Interesting CD offering from the ever reliable Beat records, out of Italia...

Comes with a DVD of directors' talking head-style interviews (Argento, Bava & chums)

Includes that Simon Boswell track, bringing the hip hop funk:

@vi-res - Great pick with Christine. I agree with you that it's Carpenter's most minimal score, and could almost pass for a minimal techno album. Icy synth hooks...

@Spun - That compilation looks great. Is the DVD region-free? I wish I had all the Beat CD's.

@chief - Nice one! Gets lots of plays over here too.

So nice to have one of my favorite Italian library albums in my ride at all times:

@deaf, I'll need to look into that one.

First for today 'The Fountain'. Here's something that's been bugging me, how is it that it's Nigel Man-SILL, but Clint Man-SELL, phonetically (or at least that's how I hear it).

Love that 'The Visitor' cover... @Chief... and yeah Wojciech's on fire lately!

@Deaf - will have to check out that Library - in the meantime couldn't find anything on the Beat DVD disc or packaging pertaining to playable regions so I would suspect it is region free... sleeve notes on this package in Italian and English by Daniele De Gemini, so sure he could confirm :)

Also picked up this other beautifully packaged giallo thriller CD comp via a Discogs seller that will appeal to you Italian fans out there.

It looks to be the same label (Brioche Edizioni Musicali Snc) who did a couple of great Italian Police thriller comps in 2007/08 which can be picked up reasonably cheaply still

Those look like good comps @spun. I think I'll definitely pick up the Beat one.

I must admit, I'm partial to the Mondo cover for The Visitor too. I picked up the Mondo on the cheap a year or so ago (remember those good old days when you used to be able to pick things up on the cheap? Haha).
