What to say about this?? I think it mirrors the film in many ways, and in that the packaging design reflects this. It is a visual and stylistic counterpoint to the show-- darker, moodier, without cheeky references to donuts and coffee and without Cooper's chipper demeanor. The white and black jackets for the white/black lodges.
I'm glad to have seen the Alamo film screening. It gives a slimy, awful clarity to the series and says overtly what was always bubbling under the surface of the show--Laura was sexually abused for years and eventually murdered by her own father. I'd also forgotten how much of a true horror movie it is especially towards the end.
The score works as a standalone piece. The mastering is excellent. I may need to swap out this copy, though, as two of the sides are pressed a little off-center. It's especially noticeable because of the piano and string orchestration. They pressed a ton of copies, so I'm sure most are not affected.
