New Steve Moore double from Relapse. Solid score, jacket has a UV spot finish on the front. Pressing has light background noise throughout like they maybe used recycled vinyl. Not too bad, but it's there. The cut itself sounds great, dynamic, etc.

Yeah, it's strange that the album was only released in Japan. I wish my copy still had the obi, but I picked up this white label promo copy for ~$20 USD. I could see Vombis pressing a nice replica LP similar to their Concorde Affair '79 reissue, although they did not include an obi strip with that one either.

Oof!

I had a horrible feeling this was going to be awesome after @deaf mentioned it previously.
Another one added to the list ;P

You do know Christian Gaubert's other funky jam 'last Exit'. A Jazzfunk boogie monster, with a very classy French sound. It has been reissued and it's a solid reissue. Check the tracks 'sweet maryline' and 'sweet and fool like a child', Highly recommended.

Nice pressing from Invada. Got a couple versions of this, but this is the one I'm going to hang on to.

Utterly brilliant release from Roundtable - the film is an early cult sci fi allegory from Peter Weir, the score (once thought lost) is an incredibly eerie, 70s synth wonder. Think Vangelis meets Phase IV.

@Tex - Thanks for the Mind's Eye Review. With all the picking and choosing I have to do these days, I appreciate that kind of info.

@ScoJo - I think I mentioned this on here a few days back, but The Last Wave score is fantastic. Full stop. Immediately thought of you when I heard the samples a few weeks back for the very comparison you just made. My copy's on order. Now I have to go find the film.

@All you beautiful gents with multiple, well-cared for original copies of Gaubert's The Little Girl Who Lives Down The Lane - Image

Nice spins again. Haven't had a lot of time to play some music, but hopefully this weekend I can find some space.
Love that The Little Girl Who Lives Down The Lane. Added it to the want list :-)

Today this arrived. What a great album! I have this board to thank for introducing it to me.

Just took in Hausu on the big screen a few weeks back for the first time. What an experience.

Revisiting this superb release... Mad Season - Sonic Evolution live with the Seattle Symphony, January 30 2015. Heavy jacket, 8-page color booklet, printed inner sleeves, amazing music. And Chris Cornell standing in for Layne Staley, maybe the only guy alive who can sing it right. Would have given my left arm to see this show!

There's apparently a red w/ black splatter press out there in small numbers.

I ordered Psycho III but when I opened the package they had sent Psycho II. Things are worked out and Psycho III is on it's way to me but I figured I might as well spin this. It's my copy not the one sent to me by mistake.

@ScoJo - Vangelis meets Phase IV!? That has my full attention.

@Bez - Crom's devils...that Conan LP! Incredible pick. :) Still waiting for the French porno grooves to arrive...

@Mateo - Hausu screening sounds like an excellent night out.

@texas - I am not familiar with that gig at all, and will check it out.

@tim - Psycho III is also on my want list. Need to prioritize...

ImageRitual Necromancy - Oath of the Abyss

From the bowels of Portland's metal scene crawls the filthiest, reverb-drenched metal of death to ever worship at the throne of Incantation. If none of that makes any sense, avoid this album at all costs.

And on the total polar opposite spectrum of what deaf's spinning haha... What do you get when you combine George Clinton, Parliament, Bootsy Collins, the Horny Horns, James Brown, Sly Stone, Brides of Funkenstein, Andre Foxxe, Funkadelic, Ron Dunbar, Bernie Worrell and friends? One hell of a funky album! To think I brought this to four record shows and no one threw $12 at it. Well screw em, I'm keeping it now.

Great 1970 funk/soul album on Volt. She was a Motown artist in the early/mid 60s but I like this later effort best.

Last one for the night. Going through my funk/soul bin to list on Discogs and pulling more out to keep than I am listing... Oops...

This one is mostly middling except "I'm Gonna Run Away From You" which has kind of a northern soul sound and my pick from the disc "Mo Jo Hanna" which is nice and funky. This is a white label DJ promo in mono instead of stereo. Good samples elsewhere on the album as well.

@Deaf - If only one's affinity for any other record could be similarly divined.

@Tex - Kim Weston is legit. I don't think I've ever heard Tami Lynn. Are you by any chance a Gloria Scott fan?
