@milliondollars, Agreed!

I grabbed the moomin 7" and a LTD moomins Lp, also grabbed a long overdue holy mountain and magnetic systems.

Nearly grabbed the JCV Ltd lp too, but my wallet said enough!

Really happy the Ltd moomins ships for Christmas.

I held off on a lot of other drops, the mondo test presses and waxwork sub for example.

Gotta be strategic with all these vinyl releases. ;)

I have a feeling there may be more LTD deluxe moomin lp's in 2017, Fingers crossed.

It seems so hard not to overspend these days, what with all these reissues, previously unreleased gems, the discogs market place, not to mention some brilliant new releases.

We are truly spoilt!

Caught this listing on hhv.de - from the over-elaborate release info and fact that there's not a single ref to the film online, I'd bet my cat's left nut that this is some faux-retro malarky...but who know? All I'm sayin is my BS detector is on high alert!

V.A. - OST The Girl With The One-Eyed Cat
“The Girl With The One-Eyed Cat” is a never released before soundtrack from a never released before Pinky Violence movie. Supposed to be out in 1971, this movie never made the light of day, even in Japan, because it was simply too violent and weird! It tells the story of a pimpstress and Yakuza contract killer who uses a one-eyed cat to kill her targets, they are mentally bound and can control each other. After being hunted by former employees, she decides to go on a rampage and eliminate all of her enemies, each one being sadistically killed, this resulting in bizarre scenes filled with rivers of blood and Japanese weirdness. Only some old pictures meant to be used for promotional purposes, and the explanation of the grandson of the director of the movie. The original rushes were, of course, destroyed in a fire and legend says that it could be possible that a backup copy exists somewhere in the Toei Archives. That said, the soundtrack is what you would expect from a Pinky Violence OST, fuzz guitars, drum breaks, funk themes all together, the particularity being that some of the tracks were also ''borrowed" from other Pinky Violence movies (and/or used later too in other Movies / TV Shows, but first created for this movie ) because the creators of this particular movie wanted to state that it was, unlike the others of the genre, completely above the law, so basically stealing music wasn't a problem, but mainly an act of rebellion, non-conformism, anyway here is the complete original soundtrack as intended to be at that time, first time ever on vinyl for everybody to enjoy. 200 copies are available on a 1LP of 20 tracks including a 30 x 60 color Pinky Violence themed insert.

@million

Heh...well brother, I'd love to believe in this film as much as the next guy but you start to spot this kind of malarky after a while. And you more than anyone should be on high alert for having the wool pulled over your ears ;)

(That's a low blow, sorry man)

But you know - I've sure been wrong before!

It must be a fake that plot sounds far to tame and ordinary for a supposed Japanese cinema shocker/oddity. :D

@ScoJo
The next DFC can't come soon enough after some of your recent posts, that roundtable release 'the last wave' sounds highly intriguing.

What I've heard of Arrival sounds great. Then again, most of JJ's stuff is.

Arrival was great, so was the score. Check out the film in the theater if you haven't yet, totally worth seeing on the big screen.

Fully agreed. A very intriguing film, and the score sounded very alien and dark, and at times a bit discombobulating. I could not really tell whether some of the sounds were added effects or in the original soundtrack mix, which makes me even more curious to hear the album. I also really like the art design of the alien writing system, and there is a symbol embossed on the LP sleeve.
