You sprung for the Xiu XIu with all the bits in it! They'll make for good snacking while you listen for the owls. That Rendezvous tape (shipped) was too rich for my blood and I'm Stateside. As a matter of fact, getting that Xiu XIu tape from Russia (regular edition, mind you) was cheaper than buying the Rendezvous mix.

I got The LARVA Tapes in the mail today and just finished tape one. Great so far-experimental but still has forward motion to it if that makes any sense...I'll probably listen to tape 2 tomorrow night. Really glad I finally pulled the trigger on ordering this before it was too late.

Indeed, m-bryce. They're good fun. I haven't had time to enjoy to the comp yet, but I'll get there soon...

This just in. Ver Sacrum - Manifest Destiny /35. From the corporate prose:
"Slowly dissecting the horror-film soundtrack with a strop-razor, VER SACRUM confronts the failure of the Suburban project. Evoking forgotten Fulci flicks via Cronenberg's Cathode Ray Mission, this collage of themes slowly builds towards a violent denouement. "
Yeah, I don't know what any of that means either, but it's all synths and drones and I've enjoyed it once already this afternoon. There are a handful still available here:

PS - I just saw that this was mentioned a ways back. Apologies for the double dribble, but suck it up and give 'er a listen (again) anyhow.

Well worth picking up for any ambient/noise fans. The packaging is really cool. I think what puts this release over the top is the excellent sound quality of the tapes. Very well done!

Thanks again sir, and appreciate the nod to the sound quality. Not sure how many listeners have clued into the fact completely, but the whole thing is sourced from one mic in a live room, no multi-tracks, no overdubs. And for the most part just two pairs of hands at a time...

And we had a bona fide genius master it for us :)

@ScoJo-I was wondering how this was recorded and mastered. I've been playing it since I picked it up a few weeks back. It sounds great on headphones. Thanks for the inside info on this. One of the top releases for me this year.

I like Accelerator too Mike. I always thought this self titled release or "Skulls" as some have called it was an interesting listin because the band is starting to create some actual song structure at this point. I read somewhere online that they were starting to tour again. I just assumed that Neil and Jennifer had both dropped dead from a massive drug overdose years ago;)
