But really you could probably spin some mean doubles with a couple of those instrumentals

I like playing a SNES game called Demons Crest with Lost Highway OST on repeat in the background.

I like playing the last 5 minutes of the movie featuring Reznor's Driver Down on repeat at ear-hammering volume until the neighbours call the cops...

250 purple copies gone in minutes, of course some foreskin has one posted for £140!

400 black copies are still available. I was able to get a black copy.

Been waiting for a repress, check out the samples. If you want one I wouldn't wait very long.

By now regarded an absolute classic of haunted ambient music, 'An Empty Bliss Beyond The World' returns our doddering protagonist to the deserted ballroom, wandering its waxed floor and dilapidated grandeur in an attempt to capture an era which has long since disappeared but still haunts the atmosphere.

@texas - Excellent heads up!

I have been following Kirby's The Caretaker project since the late 90's. I feel it's some of his best work, and I highly recommend checking out his full discography. He also has the first of six (!) new albums coming out soon:

Everywhere At The End of Time is the first in a series of six albums by The Caretaker, aka James Leyland Kirby, slowly cataloguing the stages of early onset dementia. Each album will reveal new points of progression, loss and disintegration, progressively falling further and further towards the abyss of complete memory loss and nothingness. Viewing dementia as a series of stages can be a useful way to understand the illness, but it is important to realize that this only provides a rough guide to the progress of the condition. Drawing on a recorded history of 20 years of recollected memories, this is one final journey and study into recreating the progression of dementia through sound. As the first in the series - and despite its typically frayed loop construction, this volume is the most lucid - subsequent instalments will continue to move into faded obscurity and material erosion. Mastered and cut by Andreas Lupo Lubich. Artwork by Ivan Seal.

This one is up for preorder at FE and elsewhere:

^Wow, I just had a look at prices on Discogs, and I had no idea all The Caretaker material went for so much money secondhand. I understand the attraction to the project, as it hooked me instantly with the first CD release back in '99, but seeing people pay $100-300 USD for some of the albums is quite incredible.

For those who are curious, if you are into The Shining, especially the ghostly ballroom music, then you really have to check this project out.

A tribute to Beat Records? I can't believe I missed this. I will be scouring the US distros like a hawk. I would be grateful for a heads up, or if anybody picked up any extras to pass along, please let me know.

@Spun - Yeah, I have been checking their website every day, and they converted it to the green/red listings today. Hoping to see a few more for sale here soon. The music is really enjoyable. I also like the obi strips too, curious how they chose to brand them with "VHS" logos. Most Japanese VHS tapes I have seen are in clamshells. Were they originally sold with obi strips as well?

@deaf.. I wonder... the old, old Japanese VHS tapes we have at home are kids movies and Studio Ghibli stuff, none of which have anything approaching an OBI, but it's possible they may have done when first bought. Would need research. Looks like those of us who ordered early from Bandcamp have been allocated the 'Red is Dead' colour as opposed to the 'Green Inferno'... I guess what's happening is two variants at 300 each now, so 600 total, as opposed to the 300 total originally suggested (?). In any event, who cares, enough to go around... ;)

Cool! I'm sure when I ordered there were no red/green variants. dug out my order confirmation email and there's no mention on that. Wonder which version they'll send me?

Just for those who don't follow the cassette related threads... it's approaching midnight in the UK, which means it's almost Cassette Store Day here. On sale via our Bandcamp from a minute past midnight tonight UK BST are our two ltd & numbered tape offerings... Available via https://spunoutofcontrol.bandcamp.com or @twoheadeddogmusic or via normanrecords.com

All tape purchases come with digital downloads as standard. ** For Saturday we're doing an offer that if you buy both tapes, the 2nd ships for free - worldwide. **

Am a huge fan of classically trained composer Bryce Miller's synth based music and here he has delivered a very full sounding score with plenty of layers and (yes) 'depth'... for fans of Vangelis, NIN, Carpenter, Disasterpeace... you name it!

Can't say enough about how magnificent Themes International: The Lost Tapes sounds on high quality chrome tape (we went for a higher grade for both these releases for better sound reproduction) - it's like all the favourite bits of your record and tape collection rolled into one! Like synth scores, giallo movies, library music? We've got you covered...! Why 'Lost Tapes'? Because it includes a bunch of tracks re-recorded, mastered and generally tweaked, inspired by the greats (Francois De Roubaix, Carpenter, Cipriani, Serge Gainsbourg!!),that didn't make it onto the vinyl version released by Cineploit earlier this year. So if you already own that, this is very much the essential companion piece... hope you guys enjoy!

Thanx for ordering the Zombi 3 soundtrack :)

We wanted to let you know that we have decided to do 2 different vinyls for it.

2. A green vinyl with extra radio skits/interludes with DJ Blue Heart talking (taken from the movie) on the b-side

I am guessing that all these clever fellas follow the label on Bandcamp, and were notified of the new release when it was posted to the site. I didn't hear about it until it was already sold out. Hoping to see more copies put up for sale soon. :)
