Excellent package from Mondo. The bug powder vinyl sounds great. I like the artwork and design as well on the release. The mix of Shore's moodiness and Coleman's jazz is quite unique. It really stood out for me when I first saw the film.
That looks really beautiful indeed. Love Rich Kelly's artwork.

Nice! Still waiting on my copies.
How does it sound?

2nd Italian package of the day and 2nd Italian score - this time for 'The Fifth Cord'...

Don't see this come up too often - despite Dagored having issued it as 'recently' as 2001. Had been on my Discogs list for 8 months+ so pleased to bag one ;)

@Bezulsqy - Manhattan Baby sounds fine to my ears, couple of minor pops on my yellow copy, but think more to do with needing a wipe/clean before spinning. Lots of variations on the main theme across the two sides. A fairly frill free release compared to what DeathWaltz etc might have done, but does feature a full colour printed inner sleeve with some screen shots.

@Spun - Nice Morricone selection. I have not heard that one before. Adding to the want list (that never-ending list).

Also, I believe you are the first person here spinning one of those new Manhattan Babies. It is hard to not imagine a Death Waltz or Mondo release in place of this one, but at least there is a wider vinyl release now for people to listen to. When I think back to the deluxe version of City of the Living Dead with the textured sleeve of Graham Humphreys artwork, it's difficult to not feel a little bit of regret. Ah well, hopefully the music shines through.

So happy to snag this sealed, hard to find Jerry Goldsmith score. At times it can be quirky and lighthearted but overall it's just a lovely score. Short running time, coming in at just under 30 minutes. I guess one might say it's for the Goldsmith completest. I recommend auditioning it on Spotify, you may fall in love with it like I did.

2016 marks the 40th anniversary of The Omen and today is about as close to 666 as we can get, 6-6-2016. I usually go for the Mondo release but tonight I decided to go with the original, released in 1976 on Tattoo Records.

I read somewhere a while back that the band took their name from the film MBV, one of my favorites for a long time now.

1991 Creation Records.

One final spin of the evening, and one I'm glad I decided not to sit on because it sold out so fast. I've really enjoyed this score, and the retail pressing is excellent.

I also was lucky enough to find a nice copy in the used bin at my local a few years ago. Badalamenti can seem to do no wrong, and Blue Velvet is a very enchanting listen

@bpwlogan - Nice spins -- great to see somebody else listening to some classic GODFLESH. Also, I was listening to Zombi Holocaust on my commute into work the last two days. It is just so experimental and weirdly awesome. Incredible that it was created in the late 70's. Another gem of rad future-techno coming out of Italy during that time.

Thanks deaf. I'm amazed by Zombie Holocaust too. It's tough not to spin all four sides when it hits the turntable. I can see why it flew off the shelves.

I love those early Godflesh albums. It's about time for a repress of Selfless. I think it only had one pressing in 1994.

I picked up the Newbury Comics exclusive of Blue Velvet. I'm glad that an affordable reissue with the original Varese cover art was made available. The original pressing is just too expensive. Gotta love "Honky Tonk Part I":)
Nice grab@Tim. Enjoy!

Great stuff ! The Long Good Friday is a movie I never heard about, and the music is composed by Francis Monkman, a dude I know nothing about, but when I previewed the main theme I knew right away I had to buy this record. Click the picture for youtube link to the song. I think it would be a shame to pass on this release. Single sleeve jacket, no inserts, it's still a must have, it's all in the music and it's not a costly release. recommended.
