Yes it's interesting the bandwagon has been well and truly jumped ! Haha. I come from an Indie background and once the majors jump on something then well yeah it has a ltd shelf life… I am not worried about the label at all, we have a full slate of very interesting and varied releases lined up and honestly I think we'll go more obscure and hope people stick around for the ride.
It worries me in that if I drop say a score that I truly love and think others would flip over it might get missed because of ten big USA sequel titles being dropped that are more well known , but then at the same time I have worked in the industry since I was 14 so I know there are others out there that want stuff that has never come out etc , I have said this before but it is about furrowing your own path, doing original things and giving people things they didn't even know they wanted but end up being their faves.

It's interesting because although the vinyl market is growing soundtacks are such a niche and only so many people buy them so it figures that some folks are gonna get burned this year.
It's been interesting to watch over the last year and lots of labels have delivered some great releases.
2014 is going to be interesting.
Sorry I'm rambling my next door neighbours had an all night party and listened to shit techno for 12 hours !
Why do neighbours never play cool records ?

Tangerine Dream are a rights nightmare although I would love to do the keep. I love the Sorcerer too but you can pick that up in any used bin for less than 10 bucks (If you dont own it go grab it )
I think their is lots of cool synthy film stuff out there and personally i love Steve Moore, Umberto and bands like Sonnet. But yeah there is lots of crap out there too !
We are stepping up the quality next year , honestly when you see Ms.45 you are going to die !
The package takes our Assault template and just lifts it by ten. We are working really hard to push things. I'm flying to our plant in Jan to spend a few days with them and look at what we can and can't do I am really excited !

Also donald rubinstein's ost for romeros martin would be amazing. Nonetheless, one thing is for sure, 2014 will be a great haul for horror fans and flippers alike.

Hey fac179,

Our release of Rosemary's Baby is not a re-issue of the original soundtrack release on DOT Records. We're releasing, for the first time on vinyl, the actual film score. We tracked down the master tapes and were able to work with the score, which was awesome. The original LP release that everyone talks about is actually a re-recording of the film score.

The original Martin soundtrack is not too difficult to pick up. I assume / hope / recommend you have the 10 minute Soft Cell track 'Martin' inspired by the film, which featured on an additional 12" with early UK versions of their 'Art Of Falling Apart' LP - it is genius.

Ive never heard the soft cell track. Awesome stuff.

I live in a small city outside of Detroit. So finding random horror ost is a bit more difficult for me. However soul, motown, and rnb is abundant!

would love "the keep" if you could make that happen at some point. really excited to see what giallo stuff you have upcoming as well. crossing my fingers for "The Strange Vice on Mr's Wardh" with a scantily clad Edwige Fenech on the cover :)

I would kill for a revised and remastered manhunter vinyl ost. After watching the film for the umpteenth time there seem to be a few cues that arent on the ost. Plus the cd ost I have that I think is the most comprehensive does not seem that well mastered.

Well that's a classic good news/bad news situation isn't it? Vinyl release, but for £40.

Thanks for the heads-up.

There is a long story about this score , I wanted to release it met with Simon many times talked through the different scenarios and he went ahead and issued it himself.....
At least it is there I guess...

I believe he may live to regret not partnering with you on this release Mr DW -- only 14 sold so far.

(And no...I'm not tempted at that cost!)

Have you discussed Sante Sangre or Dust Devil with him? Those would be beyond amazing....

If someone truly wants the score, he is selling the CD version at a reasonable price on the site. Not as nice as owning the vinyl, but then again, the operating word in my previous sentence was "reasonable."

That is $60us then shipping? Just stupid - Total of 24 sold...special editions included...oops - Even funnier that someone bought the special editions...must be super fans or super rich - He's gonna be 70 years old and still have boxes of those records to move around - Wait a bit Spencer for Sante Sangre or Dust Devil...you may get them for real cheap
