deafmetal wrote:Apologies, but I have no inherited wealth, I don't wear a suit to work, and I'm not a drug dealer. I work very hard to be successful at my trade, which is network engineering, and I am compensated fairly for the work. Record collecting has been my primary hobby for over twenty years now, and it's were I spend nearly all of my extra income (outside of family vacations). I drive a 13-year-old car, rarely buy new clothes or other personal things, and try to keep all other expenses as low as possible. I have also been selling off a lot of my metal and electronic vinyl collection to help with picking up more vintage soundtracks and libraries, which I have been way more into over the last many years. I also use a lot of my free time to search for vinyl, and I even stopped playing video games a few years ago to devote more time to the hobby. I try to maintain a network of people across the globe to help find vinyl albums that I am looking for.

I also feel pretty damn lucky whenever I pull in a big one. That said, it's not my intention to piss anybody off by posting here. I am just looking to share in the passion for this hobby, or obsession might be the better word for me. If my posts have become irritating, then I could volunteer to stop posting about what I'm buying or listening to, or only discuss reissues.

Let me know your thoughts, or feel free to send me a direct message.
The fuck? I don't care if your parents inherited whaling billions keep your ass swaddled in gold Huggies on a bean bag filled with blood diamonds. You like records. We like records. Now take off your top - err - I mean, now show us those records!

A personal favorite of mine, and easily my favorite biographical movie. It was one of the few video tapes I owned when I was a kid and I watched this movie 100s of times. I love 50s Rock n Roll so this soundtrack is great for me, just a handful of covers of some great 50s rock tunes done better than most of the originals :p

When I die, I imagine I'll have that happen. Only replace "screams my name" with "pisses off the edge."

That looks real nice. Is the rest of it as swanky as the samples made it sound?

Got lucky on Discogs and this is amazing. Alien Galaxy Builder 3LP on Light Sounds Dark. Really hard to get hold of currently. Part library music part psyche, part synth, part plain weird. The album is on YouTube and I'd encourage anyone to listen to side A for a taster. Obviously a bootleg but a darn fine one. Possibly the best I've heard.

@deaf Please continue to post on here. It's good honest people like yourself that I can learn the most from in this crazy condition we all share in. I'm a relative newcomer to collecting vinyl, and I sometimes worry about posting stuff. I mainly collect Library stuff (re-issues not originals as my wallet doesn't stretch to much) and I've been introduced to so many amazing albums through the good people posting on here, so keep it up.
