I have received the Esterno Notte and Giorno compilation from Four Flies yesterday. Only had time to listen to Notte, but wow that's really good. I've followed all of their previous releases, Four Flies is awesome, I'm on board.

just returned from Hong Kong with a pile of records under my arm, finding another pile of records under the doormat. jesus, i'm broke :)

i realized Sonor sent the reissues out. did not have the chance to check them yet, but it's a damn shame what happened to Fabor's Aquarimu cover. see the original cover on top and the blurry Sonor underneath. i don't think it's supposed to be like that?

such an outstanding and underrated underwater record that i had to get a seccond pressing of. one of the very best that a lot of people don't understand actually (see the discogs review that has put it quite well) ...really hope the reissue sounds better than the cover looks... :(

"SWITCHED ON NAPLES", 1972 ‪#‎OmiCron‬ LP 0023 by ‪#‎PieroUmiliani‬ E I Suoi Oscillatori. An outstanding ‪#‎Library‬ with pure touch of genius: Maestro Umiliani revisits Naples popular songs in Electronic way by the use of synthesizer. The record is entirely carried out with Electronic sounds.
From back line notes:
"..The melodic and contrapuntual lines are produced by the Putney VCS 3 synthesizer; the percussions and the rhytmical accompaniment by the Lowrey small Electronic brain; the bass by the Busillacchio keyboard electronic bass. I started from a research of sounds similar to the vibes produced by traditional instruments (like the barrel-organ of "Maria Marì" or like the sequence of "Vieni Sul Mar", where the Tenor Sax, the Trumpet in its upper mood, the Baritone Sax, the Banjo, the flute ecc. follow one another) to achieve the creation of plurely imaginative sounds, like (1) "vento-che-si-fa-voce" (wind-turning-to-voice), (2) the "electronic caccavella", (3) the "scacciapensieri basso" (jews' harp-bass), (4) the "usignolo accordato" (tuned nightingale). Does anybody have or has anybody heard the Dagored reissue of Rizzati's Park Avenue? https://www.discogs.com/Orchestra-Walte ... se/7822661 I am particulary interested in fidelity as it is a split color LP with some starbursty type of thing going on? A nearby store has it for The Nice Price, but I wanted to do a little recon before I take the plunge.

@Mateo: the record is not very sought after. there is even a cheap OG copy on discogs. excuse my rudeness and sincerity but i would not even think of f**king arround with a doubtful reissue when you can obtain a crispy original...

@million how do you think the sound on SME Aquarium compares to the OG? I am looking at OG copies of Riflessi and America Amore Amaro, the reissues sound good to my ear though.

Thanks for chiming in, $1000000. I appreciate what you're saying and I am essentially of the same mind. However, I remain curious about the reissue because it's cost to me represents a significant savings even over the reasonably priced original. I agree, however, that no price is worth it if it is shite hence my query.

FWIW I'm always reasonably satisfied with Dagored stuff, I have the OG around somewhere so skipped this reissue

@texasvinyl: i did not have the time to check the soundquality of the reissues but i can immagine Sonor did a great job. still...i think nothing is better than the original (in most cases). especially libraries. you have to immagine the competition that the library labels had in the past. sound quality was the most important criterion. these records were supposed to be used for radio and television which most people forget nowadays. with todays overloaded pressing companies mostly still using the technology from back in the days, it sometimes seems to become impossile to reach the old standard, considering the limited time these pressing companies can dedicate for every single order. some of the reissue labels do a incredible job but still, many of them don't have the masters because they are simply not available. look at the recent Intervallo releases (Ittiologia and Biologia Marina). they did a amazing job but they were sourced from NM to M copies and if you compare the original with the reisue you can clearly hear the difference. you simply can't avoid it...

there are some micropress libraries that i own, where the soundquality is still great but beyond outstanding even if it is a stunning mint copy. these micropress libraries must have been "manufactured" in a different process because there were only like 10-50 copies made. i still did not figure out the purpose of these but that's another story, haha!

i don't like Riflessi by de Filippi and consider it a one tracker like many of his LP's (like the Giardino dei Miei Desideri ‎for example), i think most of his output is overhyped and overpriced. the only ones that i personally dig from start to finish are Vacanze, Nel Mondo del Lavoro and Ritmicolor. the price of the Riflessi reissue is great and so seems to be the quality.

Amore Amaro is always a great listen for sure...

@Mateo: yes, micropress is really fascinating. i don't want to even know what was produced in the 60s and 70s. most of the stuff is still unknown to this day and obviously almost impossible to obtain. it would drive me insane to know what i will probably never hear...haha!

@texas: i heard vol. 2 once. mediocre but not bad record. it is a typical "nature library" from what i remember. nice to have but nothing to spend big bucks on. i would assume this being a $30 record but with todays library hype i may be wrong...

i added the record to my discogs list of Nature/Wildlife list if you have really nothing better to do than browsing through a pointless list :)

I wanted to buy Momenti by Rino de Filippi and his son (under name Marcabru) but the guy wanted no less than €450! It is too much! So much is like that now, people asking 400, 600, 1000+ for a lot of these good library records.

Ordered a copy of this from FE when it said low stock level since I thought that meant they still had some to sell. They sent me an email that they searched their stock and were all out and don't know when the restock will happen. The website still says low stock level on this record....shouldn't it say sold out? That makes me a sad panda.
