WOW! that was quick delivery.
Such a great score. Hope you enjoy yours as much as I enjoy mine. I'm going to have to spin mine this weekend.

Vercetti Technicolor/Antoni Maiovvi - Lost Apocalypse split EP on Vivod

I have been enjoying this EP quite a lot on soundcloud/mp3 recently, and it is a real treat to hear it on vinyl. If you are a fan of Vangelis' main theme for Blade Runner, then you should really have a listen:

I also get a kick out of Maiovvi's cover of the Magnetic System (Bixio-Frizzi-Tempera) proto-techno jam Escape. I still prefer the original of both of these, but this is about as solid of a dancefloor outing as I have heard in a while.

Moody synth worship that alternates between dark and light themes, and some good variation of percussion throughout. Nice thick pocket sleeve for the artwork, and I cannot believe how good these lovely-to-behold splatter/haze mix vinyl from Mondo/DW sound. Both SFFS and Death Waltz Originals continue to impress.

I have always wondered about Razorback ost...for some reason I never heard samples or even seen the movie. Don't know how I have missed it. Seems like you guys dig it!

@Evan, I think Razorback rocks and deserves a re-issue.

the other release is on EMI records in Japan and Australia. The release @static and I have is on Milan records. @static acutally prefers the other jacket cover.

@Mateo - Profondo Rosso! It's the Dagored pressing, I believe.

Righting the wrong that I did not own Horner's Wrath on vinyl. Immediately enthralled again by this score. What an adventure through sound:

Great artwork, package, and sleeve notes by Devin Faraci. Not sure what's in the water in Austin, but this is just stunning:

@mateo and @deaf yep it's an older Dagored pressing of profundo Rosso (I think from like 2000 or so)

Took a shot in the dark on a new LOMC cart made by excel sound corporation in Japan. Early thoughts are that it was money very well spent. Easily sounds better (without any break in) then an AT-33ev, AT-OC9ML/III, Ortofon Bronze, Ortofon OM40, Technics EPS-310MC, or a Nagaoka MP500.

I can't wait to hear how it changes after breaking in. It's called the Hana SL.

Highly recommended. For roughly the same price as the AT-OC9ML/III or the MP500. it's in another league!

Also never introduced you guys to my new listening buddy. Meet Pepper. We adopted him on New Year's Eve. :)

Salutations, Pepper! I see you've sniffed out Blade Runner. Impeccable taste, sir or madam. Carry on.

@static, so what made you try a new cartridge? Didn't you just got your Nagaoka MP500 last year? Don't think I have heard of Excel sound Corporation, I'll have to look them up. I'm still deciding if I want to send my Denon 103 out to SoundSmiths for a retip or just sell it really cheap. I also have a Grado Sonata that needs retipping. In the meantime I need to install my retipped Clearaudio on my Denon turntable I have downstairs and get a nice set of headphones so I can do some listening on weeknights.
