Seconded. I am behind, as I usually am with most things, on DFC, but I'll take it where I can get it. One of my favorite modern, orchestral scores. Great movie, too.

So did this just pop up under a search of soundtracks on Amazon? If so, good work.

SpaceLab9 has the MegaMan deluxe up right now.

Had no idea this was happening today. I saw three versions plus a "three pack" for people that want three copies to totally not flip on eBay

There's a nice bio on the Macchi Box Set product page, but very little about the records themselves. Is this more experimental or is it in his smooth jazz and funk range? I cursory search yielded very little info.

Macchi doesn't have very much smooth jazz and funk range ;)

Here is a taste. Brilliant to my ears. Sorry if I fail at embedding YT.

Box sounds really nice too with a canvas top, easy 50 euros to Marco who is like Babe Ruth lately with the Italian reissues. The originals are close to ungettable.

I appreciate the heads up on the Cinedelic YT, Tex. That track you linked is electric. I find some of his music to have a loungey, jazzy vibe; perhaps thats just me. This track for example:

That's awesome, actually had not heard that track before. Even in that track there is a sort of ominous gloom. Most are avant garde / experimental / modern classical like Voix, I Futuribili, Bioritmi, Citta Notte, Escalation, Neuro Tensivo, Contemporanea, Andes, Parliami Di...1/2, Sei Composizioni, Preludi E Non, To Buster Keaton, Il Deserto, Africa Minima, Fauna Marina, the Risonanze series, and his work w/ Gruppo D'Improvvisazione Nuova Consonanza.

One day I will get copies of them all! Still missing a couple of ghosts like Fauna Marina and Adagi E Allegri. Marco has been a saint in helping fill in a couple of the more challenging gaps with his Cinedelic reissues, and I am very much looking forward to Lorenzo's reissue of Africa Minima. Plus it would not surprise me if we see some additional previously unknown stuff as it seems a couple of labels now have good relationships with the Macchi estate.

He also did a cool 1967 western score for Bandidos!

Music On Vinyl is doing the "Steve Jobs" OST. It's a great soundtrack.

Man, Tex, you listed so many cool albums. I only have a small handful of them, but someday... That western sounds grand. I would snap it up in a heartbeat.

PS - On the YouTube front, after you select "youtube" from the BBCodes drop down menu and insert your link, delete the 's' from 'https' and voila!

PPS - That's a trick that monsterworship sussed out, not my doing, so cheers to him.

Who! When! Where!

Oh man that's a definite pick up for me, such a cool score.

That movie and the book its based on have a lot of resonance for me. I, very briefly, worked as book dealer and almost went into that field as my chosen profession. Before I collected records or movies or posters, I collected books. As a life long horror fan/bibliophile/francophile/historian/religious scholar, I fell in love with this strange movie that seemed to combine all cultural and aesthetic elements I was drawn to. I first saw it on a cruise ship, watched it ten times. When i finally read the book, i couldn't believe that there was even more to love, as I'm also a huge fan of 18th and 19th century adventure literature, especially Dumas.

Kilar's score is so atmospheric and eerie, and totally brings me back to my student days before the bills came knocking and i imagined myself buying up leather-bound Don Quixote sets and spending my days surrounded by dusty paper.
