I am a newcomer (this is my first post) and from Australia. I actually (regrettably) sold my entire vinyl collection 20 odd years ago but recently was given a fairly decent collection by a neighbor who was going to chuck several (many) hundred 33s and 45s and wondered if I would be interested.

Was I what.

So I have been bitten by the platter-bug and have started collecting again, but after ten years of semi-professionally writing about horror movies for a website, I am mainly buying soundtracks... although my recent purchase of Myrkur's 'M' would suggest I am not exclusive in that relationship, but my intention is soundtrack to my favorite films.

I'm in Sydney, NSW.

Welcome J.R and nice to meet you.

My entire vinyl collection was stolen from me by somebody that I was living with in 1996, I was shattered,I loved those records more anything....

I restarted collecting when I moved to Newcastle in 2004.

Some of the prices us Australians are lumped with is ludichrist so my collecting has slowed down over the last couple of years.

If you are ever in Sydney, contact me and we'll go strangle a beer.

Yeah. I've been getting my stuff from Goldmine and Discrepancy in Melbourne mainly, and it is definitely worth your while to bulk buy to get a better deal, but I still, quite often, feel gouged. Four soundtracks (Evil Dead, House of the Devil, Trick R Treat and Nightbreed) just cost me $210 delivered. I still haunt Utopia or Redeye in Sydney if I have a couple of hundred spare and a need for new wax.

Bummer that your collection was stolen, I dunno what I would do to the person that would steal my music, dvds, or comics... I have watched the Saw movies so maybe I have an inking.

I'm well and truly back into collecting now, especially considering my boss gave me about 60 soundtracks, so my soundtrack collection is now pretty good.
