Avalanche is a 1978 disaster film starring Rock Hudson and Mia Farrow. It was scored by William Kraft, a composer, conductor and percussionist. To my knowledge this is his only film score. It was released on the Delos label which was a classical label that really didn't delve into movie scores. The movie is really fucking bad but in the best way.
The score is all orchestral with some really good string work and avant garde sections. Jerry Fielding comes to mind, a little. It's a great little 70s disaster movie score that is way better than the movie deserved to have.
Tracks from the soundtrack... these are from a CD reissue a few years back and aren't quite exactly the same as the LP (the LP is missing a couple of the cues(*) and has a longer version of Annette's Skating Sequence).
