My copy sounds great. Less scuffs etc than most Italian pressings as well.

OK. Many thanks for your opinion.
I'm very reluctant to coloured wax. Don't know if I'm going for this cheap reissue 18,95 € on hhv.de - or a black OG on Discogs for €30.00.
Nah, will probably go with the OG.

Ooohh yes , just ordered my OG on D . Only one left. Unless you want to pay $500.00 . Or settle for the substitute....

Anybody have info on the quality of Dagored pressings from the early 2000's? I just picked up a copy of a release from 2001 (the second in my collection from that year), and they both are really poor quality for being pressed on "180gm virgin vinyl" black wax. They each have hundreds of little dimples on the vinyl surface that cause continual audible noise, and in general just look awful under bright light. The newer one I picked up also feels off-balance with one side having a thicker edge. The mastering is "ok", but the surface noise is just brutal. What a disappointment.

Well that stinks. Sadly I can't add anything else. I don't believe I have a Dagored from that early on in my collection.

I also searched the forum and found a comment about the Dagored pressing of Suspiria from 2000 having some noise issues. Say it ain't so?

I only have a 1999 Dagored copy: Red 104-1 (Italian Girls Like) Ear-Catching Melodies
I'll check it on Thursday. I don't remember it being a sub par pressing.

What record did you get? Il Diavolo Nel Cervello?

The Good, The Bad and The Ugly expanded 2LP. I also have The Beyond with the same issues. I will see if I could get a good photo of the dimpling on the vinyl. They create a scratchy noise when the needle runs through them.

That does sucks.
Out of curiosity: is this version a special version opposed to other version? Because of additional tracks or what not?

Yeah, it's an expanded edition with ten (10) additional unreleased tracks. I believe the source was the expanded CD remaster by GDM Italy that was released the same year. Capitol Records released a similar expanded CD version in the US in 2004, possibly from the same remaster, which is what I have been listening to for many years. I had asked in this forum quite a few years ago what the best version of the score was on vinyl, and somebody had referred me to the Dagored 2LP. I finally found a copy for less than retail and pulled the trigger.

I have not heard the AMS reissue from 2014, which has sixteen tracks in total (compared to 11 on the OG, and 21 on the GDM/Dagored expanded). That said, I should probably just give up on the reissues and throw down some coin for a copy of the OG on Parade.

Thanks for the info. That does sound like a record to have. If there are versions without the errors that is.
I actually have the 2014 AMS version released at Record Store Day. Years ago I gave it to the son of my girlfriend to play. He plays it a lot. But I have to say I never released the AMS had more tracks :-)
I still want to get the Japanese version.
