I gave my black Halloween a listen last night & heard not one pop, let alone, any surface noise.

I didn't pay attention to the labels so I listened to it in reverse, starting with side D. I think I would have preferred no dialogue. Some of the dialogue seemed to, kind of, interrupt the atmosphere of the music. That feeling may change when I listen to it in the correct order...

Is everything on the original V.S. release the same as Mondo's release other than being re-mastered & pressed at 45rpm?

Finished listening to both slabs of wax (Halloween) and the sound is audiophile, Mobile Fidelity, crystal clear creaminess. Have to say, it's gotta be the first record I bought "new" that was actually "new" sounding. Most records that are "new" usually have scratches, surface sleeve marks or some form of imperfections, usually due to shitty pressing plant facilities. Congrats to Mondo for delivering the goods.

I got my 2 copies of Halloween from Mondo yesterday and sure enough, both black.

I'm starting to wonder if all the orange copies went to people who ordered single copies that went out a week ago. My copies are due to arrive on Tuesday, so we'll see. I did snag a splatter copy, so if I only get black I won't be too bummed out as I think it looks better than orange for this release.

I received one copy from Amazon, it was black...and then on my two copies from Mondo I received one black, and one orange. So now I need to unload two black copies. Hopefully down the road there will be something I can trade these for. I'm a bit tired of all this shit with Mondo though, I'm starting to really regret buying so much from them...I don't like how they handle their products, and it just isn't any fun buying from them.

I ordered only 1 copy via Mondo and it was black.

Ordered mine from Mondo as soon as they dropped and received a black copy. All good though, the "Shape" slip mat is awesome.

Yeah, I agree @ghostfires. I like what One Way Static does where you just preorder the variant. Or Death Waltz where you can subscribe, or the versions on sale to the public are cool too. I do think that we're at the point where if it's just black vinyl, people don't think it's special enough.

Ended up getting all variants of the Halloween vinyl...black from Mondo and black from Amazon...bummer - Shape slip mat! - NO F'N POSTER!!! My wife was on...had it in cart...sold out by the time she tried to pay...less than 30 seconds...bullshit! I'll save that money and use it for a Shag Universal Monsters print

It's funny you say that because I'm actually at a point where I don't think some wacky colors are that special anymore. ("Wow, a marbled record... we only have like hundreds of those" my girlfriend recently said.)

My Mondo package showed up yesterday, I got 2 copies, the one I opened was Orange. I have to say I was a little dissapointed. The art work is great, the gatefold is nice, not the super sleeves like we have seen from DW and Waxworks recently, but nice. The pressing is really clean top to bottom and the sound is great.
My dissapointment is all the movie cuts, the talking, backgrounds and screams. For my taste it is way too much. I buy these for the music and the talking really disrupts the flow for me. A little bit of talking, like the They Live intro, is fine but I feel like this is just too much. I don't think I will listen very often at all for this reason.
I am going to hope that DW puts out a version with just the music to comlete their trilogy.

On a side note I traded with someone on here for The Beyond and love it.

My package still hasn't arrived yet. It left a Sort Facility on Dec 2 and hasn't been updated since then, was supposed to be delivered yesterday. If they don't show up today I'm going to be concerned. The thing that sucks is that two of the local shops have several copies on their shelves, kinda wish I hadn't ordered from Mondo and I could have just taken my chances locally.

Still nothing, this is getting frustrating. I called my local post office, and they gave me the whole thing about how Media Mail can take up to 30 days, even though I've never had that long of a wait ever with ordering records via Media Mail. It's now been 3 days with no tracking update.

finally getting around to listening to Mondo's HALLOWEEN. sounds pretty great so far. i only wish they had some liner notes from john carpenter or from anyone else involved. that is one of the things i really love about Waxwork, DW, and OWS. i can sit and listen to the music and read what people involved in the movie and music have to say about it. awesome to get that kind of first hand perspective.

that being said, the artwork in the gatefold is super creepy and awesome. nice release.

I ended up picking up a copy from my local shop since my package from Mondo hasn't been tracked in 6 days; ended up being orange vinyl which is cool. USPS has put out an internal search for my package, we'll see what happens. Hopefully Mondo will step up if it is indeed lost.
