Any new Cinedelic/Sonor Music releases on the horizon any time soon? Just need to squirrel some cash away.

Cindelic is apparently releasing three Egisto Macchi records of exceeding rarity. I am in a big Macchi phase so the news couldn't come at a better time. Mica Levi reminds me of Macchi. It is really sad how bad her white cube recording turned out, it was such a good commission.

I really love Bioritmi, it's minimalistic style would not normally be my bag but for some reason I find it quite captivating. The reissue is up for preorder at LITA currently and these new Cinedelic releases can't come soon enough. Cheers Texas.

Continuing in the celebration of the works of Macchi is Bioritmi, his 1971 library album on the Gemelli label.

Here Macchi builds on his earlier experimentation with the gruppo to develop a sound that features percussive extended technique such as pizzicato strings, string piano and fingernail scraping glissando combined with bowed cello and in some parts waterphone. The result is a sound which is equal parts beautiful and ominous, a playful darkness which is typical of his compositions. The early tracks have a percussive quality not unlike a variety of clocks.

I am not able to locate an audio sample to link here, but there is an Omni/Roundtable reissue on the way so this will soon be more accessible.

Bioritmi can be downloaded here in full, along with a shed load of others. Just search for it in the top right search box: http://maiolibrary.blogspot.co.uk/
Of course I don't endorse downloading music for free but this is the best resource of Library Music i've ever found.

Jumping a bit ahead in the Macchi discography, this is Preludi E Non. The A side consists of six piano preludes, and the B side doesn't ;)

This is an excellent record where the Macchi experimental darkness doesn't appear until the B side.

This was released on the Cometa CEM label in 1981. They recently found some dead stock, and it is worth considering picking one up while some are still available.

Preludio No.1 and Due Voci are particularly beautiful.

Cometa's writeup:

Egisto Macchi (1928-1992) has long existed in the shadow of his friend and famous collaborator Ennio Morricone. As Morricone melded pop idioms and western scores, Macchi too melded classicism, the avant garde and early electronic music. Aside from his frequent collaborations with Morricone. Macchi was a busy film (LSD Inferno, Bandidos, The Assassination Of Trotsky) and TV (E.S.P, many commercials with Mario Bava) composer in late 1960s and 1970s Italy and France. Macchi also cut a number of highly desirable library LPs for the Gemelli, Sermi and other Italian labels in the 1970s.In the 70's, RAI, sent disturbing drama to the point of paranoia, queer documentaries on the deep sea, and indigestible movies so-called "educational". All stuff that obviously served the music. Or sonorizations, as they were called. These sonorizations were left to shady characters on the border between avant-garde classical, electronics, space age, and healthy as italianissmo sbraco pop. Some names you know them: Ennio Morricone, for example. Or the mythological Piero Umiliani, too. But the biggest of all was Egisto Macchi

As with all of Macchi's work,"Preludi e non" is an masterpiece of dark avant- garde music.

For some reason I do, Deaf. Maybe because there's only a thousand miles from Italy to Denmark.
I'm really enjoying the new Cinedelics. My favourite is Il Deserto. I just have to handle it carefully - or else I'm going to barf!

@VZ - My package just cleared customs in Italy, so only ~6,000 miles to go. Back to the digital files... I just can't get enough of the Narassa.

Deaf, I'm spinning Narassa right now. The last track on side one, Torchio is über cool stoner jazz.

Anyone have a link/Zip of the Controfasse album by Ennio Morricone re-releasing soon? Would love to hear it in it's entirety.
