Kudos to OWS for making a fuss over their cassette releases and going the extra mile to create something standalone & special... hoping for similar great ideas from the 2015 cassette sub when it kicks in (whenever that is?) ;)

I agree. I love having the option of getting a release on tape. I especially love the artwork on the Nekro tape.

"Welcome to the Warp Zone!" by Nmesh

If you are at all a fan of 80s/90s gaming and movie nostalgia, then this epic analog journey may be for you! This is really an exceptionally well-executed concept mixtape! DO NOT SLEEP ON THIS!

"You're about to embark upon a 4+ hour psychedelic "guest" mix, concocted by Nmesh, full of retro video game / PC music, chock full of old game soundtracks, commercial bits, SFX, PSA's, and completely warped edits. Tiny Mix Tapes has been kidnapped by ninjas, and they need YOU to prove you're a bad enough dude to save them. Venture through 10 different themed worlds, and rescue TMT staff members along the way, but be careful ... there are plenty of classic video game death scenarios that could potentially disrupt your quest. Grab a couple heart containers, and sally forth on the greatest pixelized audio-adventure yet!"

Listen to all 4 hours here:

Yeah, I just finished listening to the entire mix over the course of the past couple days and it's really a fantastic listen. I have a feeling these will sell out fairly quickly once word gets out a little more. ;)

Something a little different...

Carl Sagan - Pale Blue Dot & A Demon Haunted World audiobooks

From this distant vantage point, the Earth might not seem of any particular interest. But for us, it's different. Consider again that dot. That's here. That's home. That's us. On it everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you ever heard of, every human being who ever was, lived out their lives. The aggregate of our joy and suffering, thousands of confident religions, ideologies, and economic doctrines, every hunter and forager, every hero and coward, every creator and destroyer of civilization, every king and peasant, every young couple in love, every mother and father, hopeful child, inventor and explorer, every teacher of morals, every corrupt politician, every "superstar," every "supreme leader," every saint and sinner in the history of our species lived there – on a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam.

The Earth is a very small stage in a vast cosmic arena. Think of the rivers of blood spilled by all those generals and emperors so that in glory and triumph they could become the momentary masters of a fraction of a dot. Think of the endless cruelties visited by the inhabitants of one corner of this pixel on the scarcely distinguishable inhabitants of some other corner. How frequent their misunderstandings, how eager they are to kill one another, how fervent their hatreds. Our posturings, our imagined self-importance, the delusion that we have some privileged position in the universe, are challenged by this point of pale light. Our planet is a lonely speck in the great enveloping cosmic dark. In our obscurity – in all this vastness – there is no hint that help will come from elsewhere to save us from ourselves.

The Earth is the only world known, so far, to harbor life. There is nowhere else, at least in the near future, to which our species could migrate. Visit, yes. Settle, not yet. Like it or not, for the moment, the Earth is where we make our stand. It has been said that astronomy is a humbling and character-building experience. There is perhaps no better demonstration of the folly of human conceits than this distant image of our tiny world. To me, it underscores our responsibility to deal more kindly with one another and to preserve and cherish the pale blue dot, the only home we've ever known.

Dubmood - The Sun and The Moon OST

This just arrived from France! Addicting video game soundtrack with a mixture of synth and chiptune. Highly recommend! Edition of 50.

https://dataairlines.bandcamp.com/album ... st-data040

The soundtrack is an endless loop that expands as you progress through the game. At first it bears a strikingly repetitive yet charming 8-bit tone but as you advance through the game's levels, it evolves as more adventurous compositions are layered into the mix and draw you into the expanding challenge of the game. This cassette features the full forty minutes of the original soundtrack as it sounds if you have unlocked al the worlds in The Sun And Moon. We really hope that you enjoy it as much as we did making it.

Keep up these recommendations - some good stuff on here lately I'd never have found otherwise. One from me (not soundtrack) but if anyone picked up the Yves Malone "Three Movies" triple MC last year the new one is a killer:

I've been on the fence for Warp Zone since it was announced. Wondering what quantities are looking like. Can't wait to see pics!

Haven't got any new tapes in awhile. Soundtracks, that is. Always have stuff from other genres coming in :p
