How is it? Been tempted to get one myself but so far have only found one sound sample

Not listened to the 12" yet, but the CD is weird!
It's essentially a slightly sinister mix CD of English Folk (it begins with Steeleye Span!), mostly - and presumably unsuspectyingly - narrated by Mike Harding. So far, the Cure & the Jesus & Mary Chain have also featured, alongside a satnav that gives directions as backing to Simon & Garfunkel's "Are you going to Scarborough Fair?".
I'm guessing that Bill is trying to preserve folk traditions in the X-Factor era, or maybe giving it the last rites. Whatever he's doing, it's bloody strange and I'm all for it :)

Also, a bit of rummaging about would indicate that this (the Folk Law EP, at any rate) will be deleted in 6 Days time. This probably puts it in more familiar KLF territory...

I am genuinely confused by all of this, as I assumed that the CD & 12" were both new releases...

We Know Where The Time Goes dates from 2011 and has been re-released with extensive notes on every reference, song and sample. These notes however are housed within the Folk Law EP - 230 of these have been made, it's only available for 23 days (there are 6 days left), and any left over will be destroyed. One track from the 2011 CD, one a version of another, two new ones (Jane's Addiction bassline!). If there was any doubt that the FLK are the KLF, there should be none now because that's their bloody car, although the CD booklet claims "They made us do it. Those Other Two". It's great fun now, especially now I've worked out what's going on!

EDIT 19/9 Oh hang on, there's another one now...

Oooh oooh new FLK...why was I not told about this before?!?!?!

Thanks Si, ordered the 12" and just in time I would think. I bought the cd when it came out originally and hadn't heard about anything else.

The cd has a quote from Bill Drummond on the back so it was never that stealthy.

I am a bit bemused as the store didn't add a shipping charge, not sure what's up with that.

Boards Of Canada LP reissues arrived today, which was nice as I'd forgotten I'd ordered them! Also floating about here are the Spacedog/Belbury Poly Ghost Box 7", Julianna Barwick's Nepenthe LP, the new Head & The Heart album (2 x LP, Sub Pop loser edition - clear vinyl, 1 with gold spatters, 1 blue. Goes lovely with my Fog, and Sub Pop's branded mailers nowadays are fantastic), the Sebadoh tri-vinyl (which looks mega), and some CD oddities (Littlebow, Bucolica, Smoke Fairies, dollboy)

Should keep me quiet for a bit

Just arrived in the mail and I highly recommend this Slasher Dave LP. Total Carpenter synth love. Lots of fun, and comes with a mask, just in time for Halloween!

:D glad you liked, all their vinyl catalogue is awesome:

Calibro 35 discography

One of their song was chosen for the endtitles of the 2010 movie "Red" (the one with Willis, Freeman, Malkovich,..)! ;)

They remind me in spirit of the Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra:

Sadly, a cursory rummage round various stores show that they also share similar price issues with TSPO as well! Really love this album though, will definitely save up the pennies for their older stuff...

Just noticed as well! Been scratching my head all weekend as I recognised Enrico Gabrielli from somewhere - I saw him playing sax for Afterhours a few years ago :)

Midlake - Antiphon, which is playing now. Like a lot, end of Side 1 being a particular favourite at the mo. No Van Occupanther, but thankfully no Courage Of Others either.

Richard Warren - Rich Black Earth. Soulsavers/Spiritualised helper-outer and Echoboy main(and only)man with more reverb and a bit of a Gene Clark thing. Which reminds me, the Gene Clark doc just released on DVD is amazing except (somewhat inevitably) for McGuinn/Crosby bickering.

And on CD (sshhh), another strange pleasantry from Clay Pipe records, this time A Dream Life Of Hackney Marshes by Gareth E. Rees & Jetsam. It's weird, but lovely. No LP this time, 200 handmade CDs out on the 11th. I also mention this because it's the first actual promo CD anyone's ever sent me for review and I've gone a bit giddy about it.

The preorders for the new Goat record (a live recorded at the Electric Ballroom) are up since a few hours.
250 copies on "white & green splatter vinyl" available only on the bandcamp of the label : here. More colours then...

Being an absolute addict to their first album, I didn't think twice. Even if i'd have prefered new songs.

Just got the new Music on Vinyl limited edition version of David Bowie's Earthling on transparent green vinyl. This is a immaculate pressing with absolutely no noise, and some deep bass. I'm glad they repressed this album since originals would go for $200. Definitely not his best album, but certainly not one of the worst.
