i have all of them, single copies, and have enjoyed each one. they all stand alone as great scores, but obviously some are better than others.

It all started with my never ending quest to collect every pressing of EFNY...taking a look at the releases in the first sub, I knew DW was going to be something special -- I have made it a point to get everything since then -- and I have yet to be disappointed by a release.

I have ... only a few. At risk of being burned as a heretic, I haven't picked up any of the Carpenter releases because I already have them on CD, and in general I was able to get the ones with the extra disc of bonus tracks with each release. While there are the arguments for and against the sound quality of vinyl versus CD, I figured that if I had doubles, one was going to be sitting there, rarely played, which seemed a waste (although I do have CD and vinyl copies of the recent Solaris/Mirror/Stalker releases, but that's different -- really, it is). It's also that logic that made me today cancel my pre-order for the vinyl Red Riding on Amazon ($32) and get the CD version that has the same tracks plus music from the other movies ($5). Who's a cheap bastard? This guy.

Holy smokes. I just returned home from a friend's birthday soirée to see a tweet that Death Waltz announced a Prom Night release ("disco and all") at BeyondFest this evening. I've never even seen that vinyl in person. What a get!

I have all the DW releases as well except the 7"s, as I'm not that crazy about 7"s. I also have most of the variants, especially from the newer releases. Apart from a collector's point of view, I do think that some of the variants (e.g. "The Fog") differ in sound quality, so it also makes sense from that perspective to get them.

I will try to maybe not get all the variants going forward, though, and spend my money on other releases instead, but we'll see if that happens :D

Thanks!

After doing a bit more searching, I found the interview. Loads of excellent info there.

I've got a copy of each release except for the Halloween 3 Flexi; I had the chance to buy it from DW but it didn't really do it for me. I don't have all the variants, but I do have several copies of 4 or 5 releases. I'll probably try to get the tapes if I can get them direct from DW; don't want them enough to pay for them on eBay.

The tapes are kind of cool. I may pick a few up for releases I didn't pick up on vinyl. Especially is the price is nice. Will LITA carry the cassettes?

Hello -

I'm surprised I don't see this posted on the DW thread yet, but I got a notice in my e-mail letting me know the pre-order for Assault on Precinct 13 is up on DW's website. Which it is. Boo-ya!

Oh it did some pages ago. This has been a pretty actuvemthread of late.

It's also for sale on LITA's site. I'm curious as to what the subscription colorway will be, as since it's Carpenter, I'll probably look at buying all the versions.

It's 1000 for the general public (bloody red & Vanilla swirl) that's up at DW and LITA, then whatever the Sub 3 colorway is.

There must be a generic versions for shops, i.e: black vinyl. I doubt there's only a 1000 copies in total, since DW listed a 1000 available on their site alone. I hope that's the case anyway, otherwise I'm gonna be pissed that I bought it through DW when it'll be far cheaper in shops.

Yeah, I noticed the 1000 stock on Friday, either that was a mistake, or they have shifted 850 copies in 3 days!

Yeah, I was thinking the same! My guess is there's 1000 coloured copies between LITA and DW, then a generic (possibly black or orange) version for shops. Though the DW site does say that it's an exclusive colourway for the DW shop. Hmmm...

Shouldn't the leftover tapes have dropped yesterday?

And the remaining signed Carpenter posters I believe?!

Expected to see the Prints & Tapes yesterday as per Twitter note - no activity from what I can see?

I got my Goblin EP yesterday. I had ordered the subscriber version via DW, but it shipped via LITA (I'm in the US). This was fine, as the EP was housed in nice box packaging. Arrived in great shape.

Now that is awesome. LITA is one of a handful of USA companies that do it right. The way they shipped The Fog was with reverence. Hopefully, future USA subscription LPs will ship from them as well.

Well he is in LA and away from "headquarters". I'm sure we'll get the heads up before everyone else knows, and that's all that really matters.
