Love this forum Spencer - thanks for all that you do.

Hi, New poster here - I live in upstate New York and collect all types of vinyl. I'll keep the soundtracks in the other thread. This week's finds.

I'm surprised no one mentioned David Yow's solo album: "Tonight You Look Like a Spider" It's all kinds of fucked up horror noise stuff

HBS - In Deep Owl (Soundgarden/Hater bassist does something very special. Half Lanegan's Winding Sheet, half Tom Waits oddness. Could well be my favourite album of the year)

Bill Callahan - Expanding Dub 12" (Smog blokey prefaces new album with a couple of dub mixes. Odd, but amazing. Can't wait for the - non-dub - album!)

Soulsavers vs Beastie Boys - Alive 12" (bootleg thingy where Staffordshire Producing types take New York's finest and introduce them to Alan Hawkshaw)

Typhoon - White Lighter (Band with 12 people in it. Nice Americana thing, gorgeous white & orange/yellow spatter vinyl)

Hopefully John Foxx & The Belbury Circle Tomorrow, just ordered the Pixies 10" (and LHOTL naturally!), and hoping the Sebadoh tri-colour album isn't too far off either...

Hi guys -

New here from Brooklyn, NY. Last week, I picked up the first Pretenders lp and Lou Reed's "Street Hassle" from a street vendor at $7 each (!), the experimental/noisy/garage-y/all over the place and always entertaining Dan Melchoir's new "At Home with the Lloyd Pack" from Dan directly(ltd to 175 copies)and bought the black metal band Inquisition's "Magnificent Glorification of Lucifer" from 2004 for the Satanically brutal price of $25 USD when I saw them open for Black Witchery at St. Vitus this past Saturday.

Looking forward to that Sebadoh tri colored as well Si! Did you get the 10"? What'd you think?

Best wishes,
Tony

Hey Tony,
I didn't get the 10", but that's because I got the EP as a download last year when Lou released it rather quietly on Bandcamp - they had some vinyl copies I think on the merch tables but they didn't get near me. Found it kinda difficult to justify buying it again this year (then again, the Pixies 10" is £14 and I splashed out on that without thinking). I sort of missed them the first time around (no idea why) but really liked this one and can't wait for the record to arrive - which it didn't do today :(

Waiting for my Silver Gymnasium to arrive from the US - annoyingly, it was cheaper to import than buy in the UK...

Just received the extraordinary album of WISDOM OF CROWDS featuring Bruce Soord and Jonas Renske from Katatonia! The mirror board gatefold sleeve is astonishing!!! Great and original album! ;)

Pixies 10" arrived today - nice and quick, lovely shiny embossed inner sleeve as well. Still, a bit cheeky at £14 and there's more to come...
Also, John Foxx & Belbury Circle 10" here and a signed sebadoh poster but no bloody record

Hoping to find that John Foxx/Belbury 10" too.

The Foxx/Belbury EP is an absolute cracker, one of Ghost Box's best releases.

The Pixies 10"... less so. Serves me right for being such a fanboy and paying so much without listening to it first.

Also got Nick Drake's Five Leaves Left heavyweight audiofile boxset thing which is gorgeous, and an Isbells album which I have no recollection of ordering - not listened to it yet, but as I've just sliced my thumb open while slitting the shrinkwrap with my nail, I'm already regarding it with suspicion.

My word, this is gorgeous...

Richard Norris of the Time & Space Machine does an electronic score for a film that doesn't exist, and Luke Insect pops up to do the artwork (a poster is included). Can't recommend this highly enough.

Picked up FM "City of Fear" on vinyl for a buck! Some of you eighties horror fans might recognize the song Lost and Found from the movie The Incubus that starred John Cassavettes

I always thought this song was the creepiest part of the movie

@bansel, it's a VPI Aries original without any mods. Still using the original JMW 10 arm that came with it. The cartridge is a Sumiko Blackbird.
