The link to LITA doesn't work, it just goes back the exact same page!
Also, what about us B2B subbers? will there be a basic black edition? If so I'll hold off and wait for that!
I did get an email but I cannot tell if it is because of my B2B sub or because I subscribed to the email list!
Listening to the Soundcloud right now, outtasite!

Haven't seen the film, hadn't listen the score until now, must say this is the Morricone I like more, reminds me Le foto proibite di una signora per bene.
Great!

Nice one Spencer! What a great surprise!

It's funny, there's all this hoopla now around certain labels/release drops that often lead to unpleasantness in one way or another, and yet you almost casually drop a monster like this! Nice.

I have the Dagored, but I'll definitely be all over this expanded edition.

Quick aside/story: I was recently bollocking on to a friend who asked me about Giallo scores, and he'd bought his gf over with him. As I explained about how they often had long, tortured titles (often involving an animal) I listed a few, and when I mentioned Lizard in a Woman's Skin his gf make an almost involuntary laugh/scoff sound - that was heavily feminist to my ears! Then it made me think about it afterwards, how it must have sounded to 'uneducated' ears, and it did make me think that it's a particularly blunt sounding title in English.

I'm wondering - is the original title more abstract/poetic in Italian, and not quite so provocatively blunt? I wonder, can you shed some light (@maxvelvet - you there bro??)

@disco

Are the giallo titles not supposed to sound deliberately salacious?

Thought that was their 'thang' - as I understand it, the whole scene grew out of potboiler paperbacks and cheap crime novels?

Giallo is Italian for Yellow

Yellow used to be the colour of all the cheap and nasty pulp books over there.

Thats where it comes from.

@discosucks One of my fave scores and Jay cover is perfect between this and Maniac I am leaning more and more to art directed covers I think that tie back in to the original art but still giving a fresh slant.
I think anything in Italian sounds rather swoonsome .

@disco: to be honest doesn't sound offensive in Italian, it's quite evocative! Great stuff, I'm so excited about this news, I'm going to celebrate with...guess what? ;)

That's just it @max, I really didn't imagine that it was! The translation is sooo blunt and sexist-sounding!

It's an amazing, sexy flick, and probably my very favourite Fulci. So excited for this DW news!

I ape @disco's sentiment.

Out of nowhere a monster like this drops.

Can't wait to get this on during my half term break.
May have to throw on the film this weekend :D

Dude, Vos, where the heck did you find all those Morricone 7"? That's a fucking awesome pile of singles.

I am super excited about this one. Also curious what the subber copy will look like. The art is going to look so bad ass on the textured jacket.

I also like the announcement style. "Hey, check out this awesome release, oh by the way it's in the mail." Boom!

Yep, I really love how this cover came together. I think keeping it authentic to the original marketing art and design sensibility is smart. As much as I enjoy new takes on old things I really get excited when something feels like a long lost bit of package design. I'm still learning how to do that effectively but I think Maniac and Lizard's Skin and AoP13 are good examples of it working well.

This is a beautiful release ! The front of the gatefold sleeve is absolutely amazing, real feel of the 70's with it.
Thanks !

Okay, If I'm getting a basic copy (black or coloured clear, whatever) Then I'll give this a miss and wait for the Zombi 2 re-realease! I already blew $50 on Halloween III so I need to watch the budget very closely for the rest of the year!

Thanks!

I love that DW lists the Orca: Killer Whale score among Morricone's achievements in the release description.

Can't wait for this puppy to turn up in my letterbox.

Spencer, you should check the B2B mailing about this release, I almost buy it because the mail i received don't tell it's part of the subs.

I just had my order of Veruschka and Le Foto Proibite di una signora per bene turn up the other day and was wondering what Morricone to pick up next. Looks like Spence has me covered already, and its in the post. Awesome.

:-D Sweet baby jesus! So hyped for this record! Tempted by the stream but think I will wait until the vinyl is in my dirty mits.

Agree with other folks, this is a far better way to drop a big release. I cant bear the whole preorder malarkey and the whole it will drop sometime on said date. I have passed on several releases because of this.

So sub copies should be a different variant right?

And one more to go for sub 4, plus the mystery 12"
