Not sure if this is a topic that would interest anyone, but this seems like a good crowd to ask. Round about this time of year I start loading up my jukeboxes with records for Halloween. Some obvious classics, things related to horror and the macabre and death, and then things that are at best tangentially related such as movie themes for non horror movies. And though I've been told it doesn't fit at all, I can't not put "i Want Candy" in there.

Anyway, though i've compiled quite a few I'm always looking for any others i may have forgotten, so if anyone has any suggestions for records (preferably that were released at some point on 7" 45s (or even 10" 78s), please let me know! I'm pretty open minded with music so even if it's something I may have never heard of, I'm always willing to check it out.

If you've made it this far reading, you must be a little interested, so i'll start off with a list of what I have. Rereading it, the list seems like I'm missing some I have, but it's a start.

Thanks for any suggestions!

Jukeboxes...plural? Also how is Enigma a Halloween song? Because it has Latin chanting?

Yeah, plural. My return to vinyl actually started with wanting a jukebox, which led to hoarding 45s, which led to LPs. I actually have 5 of them now (one is a cd).

As far as I know, Sadeness is referring to the Marquis de Sade, and has a bit of a creepy feel, so I go with it.

Large or small hole?

The halloween movie theme 7" that was $20 awhile back would be cool.

I was having a look through my list of 45’s and found a few tenuous 7”s that you haven’t got:

Lovebug Starski – Amityville
Grandaddy – The Crystal Lake
Gil Scott-Heron – Me & the devil
Beck – Devil’s haircut
Cameo – Rigor mortis

I'll get my coat...

@monsterworship - either is fine, though large is preferable. One of my jukeboxes had a feature to allow it to play small hole 33 rpm 7" records as well as 45s (known as autospeed), fortunately, it's broken, so what i'm left with is a jukebox that can play either sized hole.

As far as the Halloween theme, i had no idea that 7" existed until I decided to check out Carpenter's singles on discogs after putting my list together last night. Figured it would be a hunt to find one, but after reading your post I decided to give a quick look and they actually had it on the official halloween store for $15+ shipping so I snagged it. There's one on ebay at the same price with free shipping, but wasn't worth the wait and potential loss to save a couple bucks.

@zuko - that would be great to have! I saw this pot via email first so had to click the link to see what it was so I was sure it was going to be this one that sadly I'd buy in a heartbeat:

@Peek-a-boo - thanks for the tips. I'd definitely grab all but the Crystal Lake one (though i should relisten when I'm not expecting F13), even if a couple relate in name only. I do fill in some slots with others like that and you can't go wrong with Beck and Cameo. Sadly for me that Gil Scott Heron doesn't look like it will come cheap if i want it.
