Vinyl release for the Oculus score by The Newton Brothers, please!
Just watched it last night, pretty great film...really intense all the way through. I especially loved the weaving of two stories into one by the end; very exciting. The music is damn good. While the majority is orchestral (not normally what I'm interested in), it isn't over the top and the synths add a really nice touch.
This has been on CD, but no vinyl. It doesn't match what people are getting use to hearing from Johann Johannsson, but no matter - the music throughout is beautiful. I have this on heavy rotation digitally, and have for years. It's a wonderful, obscure score.
Don't know if anybody threw this one out there, but would love to see The Knick on record. Or even CD. Great series on Cinemax. The score is done by Cliff Martinez.
Very good news. Right after I posted that I realized the CD was available. I would love nonetheless to get that score on LP. Man oh man. Hands down best show out there.
