There's nothing like a vinyl drop to draw the ire of the whole vinyl fan community. Hitting refresh for hours seems a bit too much for me. But to each his own I guess...
However, I think WW should really think about doing a sub like DW and OWS. That way people only have to camp on their computers once a year instead of crashing WW's site every time they drop a release. They should also consider doing more presses to easy off the pressure to snag a copy (if their licenses allows this of course). When it comes to the colorways and what not, I think it can be cool with variants, but when they do small amounts things get out of hand pretty quickly. I don't really see how a release gets any more special just because there is a streak of blood or whatever on the record. For me it's pretty fucking special just to get hold of a copy of Friday 13th, not matter what the color. I mean, WW's attention to detail, packaging and remastering is second to none so I think everyone would be good with a black vinyl considering the awesome music and packaging.
I am aware that many on this forum are serious about colorways and limited editions and I don't mean to rain on your parade. I just think it's a drag for us who just want a record to not be able to get one due to a whole lot of "refreshing". And yeah I know I can get the record over at Norman's and Amazon but I'd rather support WW directly and get my copy from them.
Anyways, I hope everything works out for WW with the relaunch so everyone is satisfied. I just wish WW reconsider their strategy for releasing vinyl cause beefing up the website sure didn't work.
