For anyone here that might be into minimal house, electronic dance, etc - you might very well enjoy K from Donato Dozzy. This repress has needed to happen for a while, and will probably sell out fairly soon. He is best known recently for the Voices From The Lake album, which is beyond great.

A couple of punk / hardcore classics at LITA - Sadly playing the "you can't touch some of the variants because they are only in Seattle and Texas" and "if you want the deluxe version from us you have to get a t-shirt included making it $30" ...but the t-shirts are cool and seems they do have a regular version option

The mighty KYUSS catalog is getting US reissues of all 4 LP's on Elektra/WEA, scheduled for a July 22nd release.

Not sure how many of you care, but I'm absolutely psyched as these have been rather pricey imports for the last few years (and only Blues for the Red Sun and Welcome to Sky Valley were available). This stuff is some of my favorite music ever recorded, and I inexplicably own none of this stuff on LP.

Looks like retail will be right around $20 for Blues, Sky Valley, and Circus; with Wretch being a little more as it's a double LP.

I remember picking up a used copy of Sky Valley when I was about 13. Still have it :)

Wolves In the Throne Room - celestite mirror
Celestite sees the band take a deeper excursion into the crystalline synthesizer-driven domains that have long intrigued them. With the aid of producer Randall Dunn, the band unearthed a hidden sounds cap that is only loosely tethered to their familiar sound, yet is still unmistakably the work of Wolves in the Throne Room.

Excited for this!

@ MW - thanks for the heads-up on teepee. I can't believe how horribly they talk about the record considering they reissued it... I know it gets a bad rap when comparing it to the first 3, but jeez... I think it's still a great record regardless. It's not surprising that they still still have it in stock since they practically talk you out of buying it....but either way, I'm gonna grab one to tide me over till the WEA reissues come out, so thanks again.

@ Mateo, you're quite welcome - I had a feeling some of this crowd would be on board with these.

and @ Reanimated - Sky Valley (side 2, which starts with Demon Cleaner) was the first cassette I played in my first car. In some sort of superstitious ritual, it's the first thing I've played in every car I've bought since.

I've an identical ritual with most every music listening/playing device that enters my life because of the first CD I bought to go along with my first CD player in 6th grade (my first "big" music purchase). I daren't mention the disk for fear of losing what little STBC street cred I have in my favor.

@Mateo - Don't be ashamed, embrace it! I remember selling my Atari ST and buying a portable CD "Boom Box" when i was 14. Had enough money left over to snatch a copy of Simply Red 'A New Flame' and Belinda Carlisle 'Runaway Horses" Haha!!

@Jimmy_Mike- That's a cool idea and, at $47US, reasonably priced for that sort of thing. The downside is it'd pretty much have to be on permanent display so you'd better really love that package.

The wonderfully-monickered Woodbines & Spiders (yer men out of Moon Wiring Club and The Advisory Circle) have announced their first album together after working on the thing for 7 years and letting people know about a week before it comes out... Linky for pre-orderings.

Ooh - and the Soundcarriers' vinyl pressing (one of my fave records of the year) has already sold out. A fresh batch will be available soon.

That Expo 70 set is very awesome, and I do own just about every single record, cassette plus a handful of CDs of Expo 70's work, but at $47...I'm going to pass on this one. That just seems to high to me. Especially for a record I already own, plus own a hand-written cassette demo of the same album. I hate to say that, as I find Expo 70 to be incredible music...but for $66 after shipping, I just can't swing that on a duplicate record!

I fell asleep before I had a chance to listen to it!
Am going to give it a go in half an hour - am looking forward to see how it sounds while I watch the World Cup opening ceremony, it's possible that a weirder mix of sound and vision may never have been experienced before :)

EDIT:
Hmm. More spins needed. It's certainly interesting (each side has its own multi-part suite) and some of it is certainly REALLY good (Slow Accident is very PCA-ey), but I'm not totally grabbed yet. Certainly intrigued enough to want to listen to it again immediately which can only be a good thing, it does feel that it sails a bit too close to "eh?" at times. I do like it, just not sure how much yet :)

The opening ceremony however stunk on ice, even by bad opening ceremony standards. By the time Pitbull & Lopez arrived I was hoping Diana Ross'd come back.
