Hi guys, I just have a mondo vent I have to get off my chest and I thought you guys would understand. LOL.

So, I ordered the Omen and the jacket was damaged. The vinyl actually came through both the inner sleeve AND the jacket. Well, I e-mailed Mondo and they said "Sure, no problem! Mail the jacket back sleeve back and we'll send you replacements. Well a week after they receive it... nada. Well I e-mail them yesterday and ask what's up? Well, I get a shipping notice yesterday. I didn't really pay any attention to it, but I decided to look at it today. They charged my credit card $32! WTF!?! I didn't order a second one, I want a free $&*K'n jacket and sleeve that you OWE me!

So, this is what I e-mailed back:

Excuse me, Charity,

I see that I was just sent another omen, but WHY was MY credit card charged another $32 for it??? I did NOT order another omen. This is ridiculous!!! I expect my credit card to be reimbursed the funds immediately. This was a mistake on your company's end, not mine. Is there a way that this can be fixed as soon as possible? I shouldn't be charged for another one (or shipping for that matter) for damaged product that was delivered to me to begin with.

Thanks for your help,
Ashley

::sigh:: Why is it that we continue to deal with Mondo when all they do is continue to let us down? LOL. I swear we are like little crack vinyl addicts. :/

@ninja - That's just fucked up, I'm not 100% but can they actually just charge you without permission?

I had the same problem & they sent me a new cover within a week free of charge and I'm in the UK. They didn't even ask for the original sleeve back.

Sure hope they fix it for you :)

It's a bit ridicolous you have to send back a damaged cover... What are they going to do with it? It should be sufficient to send a picture as proof.

(EDIT: Actually, why would you even need to do that? Why would you lie? To get an extra cover?).

Yeah I've never heard of someone asking for a damaged jacket back, that's pretty crazy in itself. What good really comes of that? Asking for a picture or a few pictures, sure...I can definitely understand that. They've got to be the weirdest and hardest company I've ever seen people deal with in my life.

It's funny, my credit card was just charged with approx. 70 USD by Mondo. I have two pending orders - one for 85 USD and one for 87 USD, but no orders for 70 USD...

A buddy of mine requested a new jacket, and the 2nd came split at the seam too.

Mine was split but I figured it would be a hassle to get a new one.

I will say that Mondo are only human and therefore prone to human error. If it were me, I think I would only get upset if they didn't fix it promptly. People will make mistakes and the real question is how do they deal with them?

but, I agree with the other folks who think it is a little silly you had to mail the jacket back to them. Hopefully they are learning a valuable lesson about including enough inserts to keep things from sliding around inside the box during shipment.

Indeed, why does anyone continue to deal with Mondo? The only reason they get to make records is that people buy them--stop supporting Mondo. They should focus on making uninteresting posters and leave the music to the music lovers. Mondo is The Man and must be escorted off the premises.

Mine was split too but I'd rather just live with the damage than deal with mondo's customer "service". Fucking hipsters.

to be fair, their posters and artists are amazing. I've got the Beyond, Oblivion, Blue Sunshine, Here Comes the devil, Halloween & The Omen, and they're good releases. Pretty packaging. sounds good to me. Halloween could probably sound better but the other are pretty good sounding to me. I'm not an audiophile per se though.

I'm pretty sure the solution to anyone who dislikes dealing with Mondo would be to just get the records in store and pass on the variants.

They make nice things, but they're still the enemy.

This same thing is happening to me right now. My Omen LP arrived damaged, I returned it and it arrived over a week ago to them, but i never got sent a new one. Sent an email yesterday but haven't received a reply. Hopefully they don't double charge me!!

$35 for JP! Holy hell.

Well I've been dealing with Mondo off and on all day. They claim my card hasn't been charged. Nothing is showing up on my cards yet, but I have an invoice from them showing a charge of $32. I just asked for more clarification on their part and will more or less calm down until I see proof on my end on my card. Then I will raise some more hell. As far as mailing back the jacket and sleeve, I have no idea what that is about. They made me send pictures to them before they would even consider giving me a mailing label to mail it back to them. :/ It isn't like there is a black market for empty torn jackets or anything. Sure, the most that could be done with it is display it on your own wall and wall... and lets face it, that jacket isn't worth displaying (in my opinion anyway).

OWS on the other hand, I asked about getting a clear sleeve for my RSD LHOTL and they said "No problem!" I asked if they could put it in with my cannibal ferox order. They said they couldn't do that, but they said they would ship it over from the UK and wanted to know my number so they could replicate the sticker and everything. Those guys are pretty ace. I haven't had to replace a DW yet since I have bought those all in my local shop, but I'm sure they would be the same way. I have no idea why Mondo can't have better customer service. Instead they are just mondo screw ups.

I guess I will go for the JC Richard one. I like that cover better. I may end up with black, but oh well. I don't think the black looks bad with the cover. Then again, the amber and mosquito is the whole basis to the movie. I just hate that cover! Reminds me of Omen too much. BLAH.

The price just keeps creeping up...and up...and up...and now the variant game too...c'mon Mondo you were the ones keeping it fairly simple

Did anybody listen to that Austin radio show for the exclusive on what will be release by Mondo in May...or was it just Jurassic Park?
By glennmichael

The May release will be The Visitor (1979). Mondo are definitely taking advantage of the hype with that $35 price tag. I wouldn't be surprised if this is the most popular release since Drive.

Is there a blog or anything about the visitor? I'd be interested in reading about that. I know I saw a short teaser blog about it and it showed half of an orange vinyl. I want a more in depth blog about it! This could be good. :D

No doubt the 1000 "Amber" versions will be snapped up by the locals in Austin for eBay as per usual. Think the coloured versions look gorgeous but sure they'll be daft prices from the flippers. Fecking Mondo Flippers

I honestly think I'm going to skip out on JP. I was planning on getting it, as I enjoy the music - but for $35 plus their typical $7 shipping charge, you're looking at $42 for one copy here in the U.S. No thanks.

I honestly can't see this one selling out hard & fast, but maybe I'm missing all the hype building around it?

I don't get it either. I am incredibly excited about The Visitor score, though.
