Well I'm on my one vacation of the year where I stay home watch movies and listen to records. Day 2 or my vacation my turntable died...

Taking it into my repair guy today but he's backlogged 4-5 weeks on repairs. Unfortunate but is what it is, guess I'll be listening to cassettes and digital stuff

That sucks @inksb! I know you are pretty handy… is it not an option to fix it yourself?
In any case I hope you can still have a very nice vacation!

honestly I love this turntable too much to try to fix it myself, I'd rather have it done by a professional and done right. I was talking to my brother yesterday and he's gonna bring me his old turntable so I hopefully will have something while this one gets repaired

EvanCampbell wrote: Thu Dec 26, 2024 4:52 pm Bez that looks like a nice space! Not sure if you are planning a flatscreen on the wall but that back lighting is nice for poster or art prints!
Thanks Evan. A Danish modular cabinet/shelving will be mounted above the stereo in due time.

My stepson wanted to play After Hours just now…

Looking good Bez. I borrowed my brothers spare turntable so I at least can still play records while mine is being fixed. It is not the greatest haha, I hooked it up and the ground wasn't working at all, had to pull it out and fix the end that connects to the table itself. Then after that there was still a light hum happening so I removed the cart and stylus, reseated everything, routed the ground and rca cables under the table and away from the power cord just incase it was a shielding issue with all the cheap cables. That seems to have fixed the hum

I believe Tim was the one who championed this soundtrack the most, back in the day, that encouraged some of us to pick it up.
Such a great one that completely passed me by over the years.

Always love to see this one show up on the spin list.

I may have to put it on the table myself today.

Will the film ever show up again in some form, beyond it’s initial late 80s pan/scan vhs release?!

I’m always living in hope for ‘unlikely’ remasters nowadays - just last month we got 4k The Keep, an HD release of (personal fave) Mike’s Murder, not to mention the (kinda) original TCM soundtrack. Who knows eh?!

Here is one that a long ago ex introduced me to. When we broke up she smashed up my new car on two different occasions and then stalked me online like a creeper for over a decade. Yeah for romance!!!

When I play this I am reminded how much I love Patsy Cline's voice and in the words of Dr. Sam Loomis... The evil is gone!
