^ I really liked that score for Space Amoeba.
I am still opening records from the Mondo sale from last summer.

@Bez- I got that soundtrack from the Mondo "Mystery Box" a few months back. I thought I'd get a lot of formally returned items in the free box set but they sent me 5 really nice records.

I believe I bought 4 mystery boxes on top of a lot of records that I selected myself. I ended up getting some nice records I wouldn’t have normally picked up myself. But also some crap (a Chip and Dale score?) and some doubles.

Now some random TV pulls off my shelf.

I feel like this belongs here more than in non soundtrack thread as this lifts directly from soundtracks. You can hear Goblin & Frizzi so clearly on some of these tracks. Honestly it's just a blast and I recommend everyone check it out

Dress to Kill

1980 Varese Sarabande Records.
I have owned that lp for so long and would rarely listen to it. It is only in the last maybe 5 years or so have I really appreciated that score. It is so good!

One of my favorite scores from Pino and it has great suspense in it. The film itself is a memorable one for me it's I believe the first film I watched from De Palma. I was maybe 10 or 11 or so and we just had gotten cable TV way back when:) I did recently pick up the 4K to replace my old Blockbuster Video VHS tape so I'm excited about that. Have a great holiday Evan it's always good to hear from you.

Yeah it is definitely in my top three of his scores!

I think my issue with some of Pino scores was back in the day my juvenile attention span and not being able to grasp the hook in his tracks immediately...they can really swing around a lot to me. Unlike a John William's score or a Carpenter theme that you get hit over the head with it instantly. I have definitely grow a lot more appreciative of his work over the years.

I peek in here from time to time and always happy read the posts and see all the new purchases that remind me of what I need to get or at least want to get.

Seasons greetings Evan, and to us all - have a safe and chill holidays.

Speaking of D2K…. I rewatched quite recently and I have a genuine question for y’all. When that flick was released, do you think it was meant to fool the audience and surprise them with the killer reveal? Or was the reaction to the killer’s first appearance pretty much as it is now, ie. ‘huh, Michael Caine in drag’. It’s so wildly obvious that i wonder if I’m missing something and it’s not meant to be a surprise. It’s honestly difficult to tell De Palma’s intention sometimes!

Thanks brother ScoJo! Same to you...we must try to carve out some joy while the world explodes around us. Hope for a better new year but that is probably not in the forecast.

I only remember the shower seen from this film so I can't help on that. I will eventually give it a revisit.
I not that long ago watched De Palma’s Sisters and really enjoyed that. Had not seen that one in over 20 years...similar to Dressed to Kill.

Sisters rules! Especially when you consider BDP was probably knocking off both of his leading ladies at that time, haha. What a player ;)

@ScoJo-Great point and it's tough to tell his intentions on this one. Maybe he was doing a more obvious Norman Bates/Mother personality disorder or something along that line. It was 1980 and I'd like to think he was trying to surprise the audience in the end. I always liked that some of his films are known to have characters in "Bad Disguise" mode it makes his films fun to watch on repeated viewings.

I remember watching Raising Cain in the old $1 theater way back when and this badly disguise man in a dress shows up in the end. I knew where that was going:)

Oh he takes it to the limit in Cain haha. I must say though, as brutally obvious as the ‘Indian’ mask was/is in Body Double, my first watch I had absolutely no clue who the killer was!
