Had a (now bit pricey) vinyl release in ‘82 but also a reissue in 2019, found a new copy for £8 and thought, fuckit! Pulled the trigger :)

excited to see what you think about both of these. I've heard some less than great things about day one.

Well, I almost really loved Maxxxine, but in the end it thought it was great but was a bit disappointed. I read some reviews afterwards and see that people are really loving or hating it. It got me hooked 75% but the last part was a let down for me.

Day One wasn't bad at first but the longer I am thinking about it, the more I am disliking it. To many clichés.

Forget Maxxxine. Now you're watching a damn movie! (And it sticks the landing... full rod!)

What an amazing director - looking into his story/filmography is like peering drunkenly into the mysteries of a parallel universe, where such tomfoolery is both allowed and encouraged. Or, Reagan's America of the 80s if you will!

Haha.
I loved Hell comes to Frogtown.
I see there are two directors mentioned: Donald G Jackson and RJ Kizer. From the latter Death Ring sounds great (starring Mike Norris…)
But what is up with all those Rollerblade movies from Jackson?

I need to revisit Frogtown, last time I watched it I didn't really care for it at all

I watched Meet the Feebles last night, I found a 4k upscale that some one made and it's insanely impressive. The DVD I watched years ago looked awful

Can you believe I have never seen Meet the Feebles… not sure why not.

I believe this is the first movie from Pakistan I have ever seen.
Little arthouse psychological horror. Not bad.

Watching the original cut of this (when it was know as "Crying Blue Sky") and it's pretty much a revelation - and I say that as someone who has always really enjoyed the previously available 'theatrical' cut that's twenty minutes shorter, very different, with heavier emphasis on supernatural elements and groovy old school optical effects!

Early Brad Fiedel score is fun mix of drone synths and fiddly-diddly irish folk pieces!

I don’t know that one @ScoJo.

I just watched this one:

In the beginning I wasn’t sure what to make of it. But it ended up being brilliant. Now I understand why @inksb rated it so high.

It has been a long time since I watched a Vietnam war movie. This one was a very nice surprise and directed by an Italian.
Nice score from Tony Scott.

Was this version part of the new bluray? I was completely unaware of there being a different version

It’s on the blu. Sourced from the director’s own print, it looks great though not quite as detailed as Eyes of Fire. After years of murky, cropped dvd viewing though both cuts look gorgeous.

@ScoJo- it was a lot of fun the last time I watched this film was probably 30 years ago on a VHS tape. Didn't realize this was Chuck's 2nd film with the first being Breaker! Breaker! The Bluray transfer was really good and it had a good interview with director Ted Post. Gotta love the kick through the windshield of the car. I finally noticed it on the movie poster reflected in Chuck's aviator sunglasses. Classic!
