I watched In A Violent Nature last night, I really enjoyed that film with the exception of the finale, it felt like they really fumbled that. Incredible practical effects, two kills I don't think I've ever seen before.

Longlegs.

Very Oz Perkins. Really very silly but made in painful seriousness, if that’s a thing? The man sure loves him some Satan.

I feel like it’s one I will rewatch a bunch in the next few months, for it’s nutty individual scenes/moments and general Evil atmosphere and style (like Annihilation and Malignant…)

I read an interview after seeing it and fucking hell, everyone involved seemed to be working through serious family trauma!

A bit bummed my local theater had Maxxxine for 1 week, I missed it and it's looking like Longlegs will be the same. Don't have time this week to make it to the theater so I'll have to wait for VOD for both

Because of the renovation of my house I am in the process of dismantling my media room and moving everything upstairs. There I don’t have room to setup my home theater. So I will be watching movies in less than ideal settings for the next three months or so.
First floor will be stripped completely. New electricity. Floor hearing. An old addition will be torn down and rebuild.
Looking forward to the result but not the labour.

Best of luck with all that B! Sounds super stressful to me. Worth all the work and inconvience though, especially with that new FLOOR HEARING!! Gonna be amazing, like Surround Sound Ultra!?

^ not sure if that is my thing. But I really need to start with a folk horror challenge soon. Haven’t seen many folk horror movies.

Just watched this one. Really loved it. Beautifully shot.

Kurosawa is, as I’m sure I’ve said many times, one of my main guys! Loved this, more chills and weird disturbing atmosphere in 45mins than most feature length horrors of the past year, superb.

Following up on Ben’s discovery of a flick I’d never heard of, was curious about the score and found it on YT- it’s great bubbly synth workouts on the Roland System 700. Had a (now a bit pricey) vinyl release in ‘82 but also a reissue in 2019, found a new copy for £8 and thought, fuckit! Pulled the trigger :)
