So jealous of this one
Crazy to think they were selling for just $20 a few years ago. Also, just noticed the nod to that release via the minidisc catalog number using "HAUTING" 😄

How is that The Lost Empire? Never got that one.
Recommended, the synths are still in my head a day later:

ps - I have heard the reissue of Under The Skin is an improvement over this lackluster original pressing by Rainbo. My pressing sounds dull with a lot of surface noise. I think I will seek one out.

I second the Lost Empire recommendation even though I don't own it, I listen to it digitally a lot. It's really fun.

Would love to know if that new Under the Skin pressing is better and by how much.

Thanks for the info about The Lost Empire. Will put it on the list to get.

For the coming time I will be busy listening to my latest purchases.

My first Bond soundtrack for instance:

Nice one @Bez!
A potential small to medium-sized rabbit hole with those Bond scores, at least if you go chronological and want them all (and with an OBI :)).

@ChrisMcQueen
Yes, you are right. I will take my time with those though. If I get one I will get the first edition of the Japanese pressing.
Dr No is sort of an exception as I noticed the first edition was a double 7”
This is the first LP. And it was mint. Also a promo where I prefer to get the non promo mostly. But beggars can’t be choosers.

Next something Bond related.

Morricone 1/25

My first new Morricone of the year. It is a score I saw on auctions in Japan for a long time and always relatively cheap. No idea about the music.
Finally decided to get a copy without obi because that never was offered. At one point I though it simply didn’t exist.
Two weeks after getting that one a copy with the obi showed up! Very happy.
Beautiful music by the way.

Another score (and TV show) I know nothing about…
But I think Lalo Shifrin is always okay to take a gamble with. So far it sounds very nice.

ImageKendall Roclord Schmidt - Neon Maniacs OST [Terror Vision T.V. 053]

This is a blast. The pressing sounds nice and loud. What have I gotten myself into here?

Image
The printed inner sleeve with the composer liner notes and the shots of all the original regional VHS jackets is excellent.

Yes, I have been astonished with the pressing quality of TV releases. Unlike other companies their colored with all kind of effects vinyl always sounds terrific. And they don’t seem to suffer from real pressing plant delays.

I am not sure if I have ever seen Outland…
The score starts of excellently though 😀

-edit- Side B: track The Rec Room
Completely different from the rest of the score but absolutely killer track. I could play that track in a loop.

Morricone 2/25

The only version of this score I wanted. Japanese edition from 1983 with obi.
Side A is Mozart and side B is Morricone.

That track was unused in the film, instead there were a couple of tracks by Michael Bodikker (as Ganymede) that are also absolute bangers - and funnily enough are extras tracks on the new Blow Out ‘Buckaroo Banzai’ album :)
