Thanks to @dollar I was able to snag this one at a great price. A really fun score to a mid 80's OVA.

Glad you are enjoying it @inks.

Spoilers warning, but this is a great little write up about the notoriously bad, but enjoyable OAV.

The Humanoid was partly made by the same studio that did Roots Search, another case of bad OAV, killer ost, 😉

Various artists - SFX Hero Sound Graffiti, vol.3

Part of a series of Tokusatsu 7"s compiled to LP. But, also a few exclusive BGM tracks. Many of thes BGM tracks are only available on vinyl via these comps. Can be got cheap. The Sentei Goranger BGM is bangin, it's available on CD, I think, but the BGM deserves the full vinyl treatment.

Hey @DH - quick question for you. Any idea if the music from Roboter Der Sterne was every released in any form? It's the German TV movie edit of the series Super Robot Mach Baron (1974) with different music I think... I love this edited version- even with the German dub etc. That's how I discovered this series :) And the music is bad ass. Also all I could find for the original show was a 7" of a couple of the songs. Which I might also need tbh ;-) Thanks in advance for any info!

Cheers scojo, I've not heard of the German dub of Mach baron. I do know some French and Italian versions of anime and tokusatsu at least had their own domestic op/ed get a vinyl release. Do you know who the german dubs composer is? Had a very brief listen and hazard a guess that it could be library? Will have a proper listen later.

I have the Japanese 7" for Mach Baron, which is a funky glam rock banger. I have had half an eye on the lookout for anything more, musically, from Mach baron but not seen anything, there may be a CD ost of the Japanese bgm out there, who knows. Red Baron had its own LP which I have a beat up copy of (I think Red Baron is some kind of pre curser to Mach Baron), its good but not in the same league as Mach Baron.

For what its worth, I've not watched any Mach baron outside of the op and a few action clips. Looks like a crazy show though.

@static and @bez killing it with the spins

I just wanted to update folks on my copy of Emmanuel pertaining to the distortion I was hearing. I heard a lot of distortion at the end of track 1 on side B and the middle of track 2 on side B. I checked the digital files I had of the record and didn't really notice much distortion on those other than very minor on the flute (I think it's a flute) and some of the strings. Well last week I put on NoES and had crazy distortion on the highs during opening theme which wasn't there the day before when I listened to it. The difference was I was listening to it with my headphones. I discovered that my headphone extension cable had developed a short in it. I pulled it out, plugged headphones directly in and no longer had that distortion. I immediately checked Emmanuel and the distortion I was hearing on those tracks was greatly reduced if not completely gone in most spots. Failing cable was the culprit. Sorry to scare every one :)

So thrilled to finally have a reissue of this rare Galt Macdermot banger. Fantastic scores to two obscure 60s movies, sounds very good despite the splattery effect. My first ‘Vinyl Me Please’ encounter - have to say quality of everything including heavy card sleeve is top notch.
