I only played side A because I forgot how bad that pressing is. It skips during the first couple of minutes. I remember I asked and got a replacement but don’t appear to have switched the records :-)

This one does sound really good. I am curious how it stacks up against the VS OG.

@reddeye

i don't actually own it on vinyl, which I should rectify, just having fun with bez's typo.

But still big love for TG and that album in particular I listened to it a lot in my early years thanks to my punk/goth older brother.
Such a brilliant cover, I love to think someone might have picked it up thinking it was a jazz funk record ;D

JC - Escape From NY

Ever since ScoJo convinced most of us we needed an original pressing whether it's a VS or one of the European ones, I've been on the look out for a decent priced copy. I managed to pick this one up for $30. Jack has some edge wear and a very obvious spot where a sticker once was and peeled off but the record itself is in very good shape. After a cleaning it sounds dead quiet. It was fun to revisit this as it's probably been a year or so since I last spun the Silva Screen copy I have. I broke my main rule of not owning multiple copies of the same record but since this one actually different than the Silva Screen so I'm letting it slide on a technicality :)

This landed today and I've already listened through twice, a true SJ mini-grail that I've been wanting for years. Cinema Paradiso Recordings have my full attention too, with their first release - beautiful gatefold sleeve with original poster art, the pressing on red wax is really nice (the liners state that the masters are gone, and the audio was pulled from the 'monaural music stem' - ie a film print), the printed inner has a wicked cool use of spot-varnish on the image text, and it comes with an oversize folded sheet with extensive liner notes. 10 out of 10 all round! I'll definitely be chatting about this on the next T&S podcast...

Speechless.... incredibly generous and so many goodies to enjoy today - the Japanese Creepshow press book is a double-bill flip book with The XYZ Murders (ie Crimewave) and the Wolfen press book is unbelievably sexy. The JC flexi obvs sounds like a thirty mile stretch of rough road but it's super fun and looks great, and the Morricone LP is one that's missing from my Maestro archives so thrilled with that (plus it is a cracking score as it turns out!)

Thanks so much @B-boy, may you go with the speed of the ancients!

Is this the same label that put out Ghost World a couple of years ago?

I don't know why I presumed this was their first release... apparently not! But it was the Crumb ost they did on pic disc as well as a few other releases.

Edit: I just listened to the first track on my DW copy first of all the DW version has an intro track of a broadcast that was pretty cool but yeah the OG mix is a little different. I feel the DW version is a little more tame where the OG you can feel really the Bass. It just sounds a little fuller.
Indeed! ;)

Haha I probably read this when you first posted it 2 years ago. Sounds like we’re on the same page:). Next time I have a comparison question I’ll refer back to said feed first :).

Speaking of comparisons does anyone have an Italian copy of Don't Look Now? I have the WW version and noticed that pressing seems to be the same as the 70s UK release but the Italian version has a different track order as well as more tracks.

Playing these recent pick-up in quick succession. Death Proof has become my go-to QT soundtrack, and I absolutely loved Devs (the show and score). Being honest, I'm not sure if 3LPs might just be too much, as I tend to get put off even playing doubles as I tend not to get to play records for hours on end.

Haunting score! Gazelle Twin is one to watch as far as up and coming composers...
Definitely agree! I wish I had heard of her when her "The Entire City" release came out physically so I could have picked up a reasonably priced copy.
