Nice sounds pretty chill, thanks.

Got this in the mail today. what a score! They had this listed VG and I asked for some info. It sounded pretty nice, and today a 1959 2nd press mono came in still in the original shrink wrap!! And somehow not dirty like those old shrinked albums can often be. This must have been kept in a sealed box for a long time away from dust. There is a slight amount of groove wear audible in the left channel of the bass - kind of a subtle splat/shred sound to it - not too bad. It would be pretty tough to get another cover this good.

This one has steve lacy solos and a cool cover, and a clean original is pretty cheap. This one was 20 bucks. It doesn't play like a huge big band record more like a piano-driven quintet with more subtle horn accents and most of the horn work by lacy on sax and Jimmy cleveland on trombone. The overall vibe is pretty mellow.

Also I'm glad I was on Crafts mailing list. Indeed eastern sounds coming soon.

Anyone get lucky with the Yusef Lateef record form Craft recordings. I felt I was really fast, the whole process from putting it into my cart to hitting the pay now button was under a minute and still I missed out. Oh well I’ll try again later. I hope some of you had better luck.

Sold out in one minute. I had it carted but the checkout button gas non-functional. Seems like a lot of folks had similar issues.

I got one. I was on the phone with one of my coworkers, and we kept talking, and talking, meanwhile I am looking at the clock hit 9:59. I managed to refresh and find that "SUBSCRIBER PRESALE" link that for me was some scrolling down to find. Once in cart the Checkout button didn't work. I hit refresh, and it took me to the checkout part. My address and CC # autofill in my browser.

I think they must have sent out a few thousand presale codes for the 300, so it was going to be a shitshow. Hope you can snag them this afternoon. I want to see how these Craft Bernies stack up to the Kevin Gray SRX. KG is just killing it with the jazz stuff right now.

Man, I tried the refresh and never advanced. I knew I was sunk after the fourth try. One of my favorite Jazz LPs. I think the third one I ever bought. Not sure if I'll have the time to get after it this afternoon.

I was interested in picking up Lush Life, but honestly kind of forgot about it. And I think that was okay. It's not one of my favorite records and I don't intend to buy one steps of albums that aren't pretty huge personal favorites. Eastern Sounds is one of those records. I can live without the one step, but I very much like to have it. I also tend to shy away from 45 RPM double LPs. I simply don't enjoy them as much having to flip the record over four times to hear 36 minutes of music. Now a 33 RPM single LP "audiophile" pressing is right up Main St. for me.

T minus 15 minutes until there are some happy and some pissed off yusef lateef fans

I love how a guy on discogs wrote a review of this ike record saying some people would call it "joyful swinging" but it makes his teeth rattle and blames it for why people don't like jazz

I tried but was still not quick enough. I got as far as in my cart and the waiting room waiting to pay but it was gone before I was able to pay damn that was fast.

Yeah a guy commented it only looked like you could buy it. But the second 700 actually did sell out in 30 seconds.

It is sad to see at least 50 of these already sold or listed for sale on the bay. People are savage!

Which pressing of Blue Train is that, Tex?

Eastern Soundsv.2 sold out super fast. Maybe quicker than the presale. It's sounding like the email link went to a page that had the item for sale, but people refreshing the item page only saw it as sold out for the first couple of minutes and that meant a lot of folks who were waiting for it to show as in stock were actually too late by the time it did so. The product still looks purchasable now but it's long gone.
