I allowed myself a hall and a computer/Den to hang some posters. Mostly work related. Rest of the house has pears and apple painting so things appear normal.

Bez I think I was stalking one of your Beograms on my laptop.
Nice! I particularly like that Prophecy movie poster. Such a campy movie but I love it!

Very much enjoying the surge of pics in this thread! Much to drool over...

Sorry to say @Bez, but I am one of those fools who sortof favours uncluttered walls these days for the most part. I have only a few posters up, I generally switch out stuff in the two theatre-style frames that I have installed. My gf tends to nix anything that's too overtly horror. This original Spanish Almodovar got swapped in this week just for her (see story below) along with the Dark Star:

We have a bit of a fondness for Almodovar. And a funny/cute 'meet' story if you can stand it ;)

When we got together, doing the usual thing of working out who we both knew etc. Through some detective work it turned out that at the tender age of around 14 (ie way underage for an 18 cert!) my girly had gone to the local arts cinema with a pal to see a movie. She said there was a 'sexy, tall guy with long black hair' working there that they both fancied, and she got up the nerve to ask him about an Amodovar double bill - one of which was 'Pepi Luci Bom...' He enthusiastically recommended, saying we would love them and that it was a "gay sex romp with Antonio Banderas!"

And yep, that local arts cinema was the one that I used to work at (and eventually manage), and that long-haired cinephile fool was indeed me.

That was around '94, and we didn't meet again/get together until around ten years later :)

This is an original Italian photobusta of the Tarkovsky original, partially hidden behind an LED light-tree:

And although there are no framed posters/prints here, since Evan shared that awesome shot of his 'Power Corridor' (wow!), here's a crappy quick snap (my phone cam really is terrible sorry!) of our bookshelf corridor, featuring a few puppet props we rescued/that featured in a short film of mine

Great story. Great.

I also love seeing anything Tarkovsky.

And your seahorse trophy is tops.

Heh ;)

You know, I have no idea if I ever shared it here... so apologies if it's old news, but here is the (only slightly embarrassing!) Halloween-themed short that I made about 15years ago, which features a ton of puppets like the ones above. The shoot itself is a looong and pretty wild story unto itself, but for now will just say I had the honour of working with the great character actor Tom Bell (from A Million Films and TV, usually as 'the creepy guy') in his last role before his passing. Incredible chap. His contribution is the one thing I definitely stand by 100%. And the music is pretty nifty.

Francavilla is probably one of only two or three comic artists who I make sure to always buy. Lovely work. Also, congrats on a successful move during a pandemic. That's no small task. Where'd you end up?
Thanks Mateo! It was a crazy year to say the least. A move from NYC to Seattle is already kind of tough, getting my entire collection over wasn't easy or cheap lol, but somehow I managed to do it without breaking anything.

I think all those years of hauling boxes of records from TX to NY helped. Hatter313 can attest to my skills smuggling records across state lines 😅

Oh man those were the days haha. That box was so heavy.

A few other corners....I cannot abide a bare wall and I have too much art to justify it.

Nice to see a fellow CD Stephen King collector. Their Doubleday series is really great. Really looking forward to seeing what they do with The Stand.

Unrolled one. It was in a tube all by itself so that made it easier.

Hatter, what's the lower rightmost poster in the first picture? The one just next to Phantom Of The Paradise.

I kid you not, I’ve moved this book case a few times and if the poster doesn’t fit next to it, then I don’t even consider that location haha

Bought that from Charles Pierce’s daughter at an Alamo screening of the restoration, she told me she’s got the original Ralph McQuarrie painting in her living room, can you imagine!

That’s from LandLand, I think it was a Dave Mathews poster they did originally, but they had the art print version at mondo con a few years back and I just kept looking at it every time I walked by their booth, it had such a nice vibe to it. It’s based on a town in Germany, I guess where the band was playing, but I’m not sure where exactly. Not a DMB fan in the least, but I love this print. Here’s a better view.

Edit: just looked it up, the show it was done for was in Cologne, this is definitely evocative the architecture there, but obviously not the cathedral.

That is CRISP dude! Rolled not folded? Nicely done, I always have trouble finding rolled from that era.

I looked at a house recently that had a flat file built into the wall, I don’t know what the deal with it was or why it was there, but that is nearly enough to make me consider making an offer haha

That is choice, Hatter. I couldn't give a toss about DMB, but well done you.

Yes. Never folded. I had it in a frame for a while in my office many years ago. But since, gently rolled in a tube. :)

I bought one of those big baroque portfolios and got everything flat now, the rolls were getting in the way. For a hot second I considered getting one of those wall mounted racks you used to see at record stores so you could just flip through them in my living room, but I decided that was insane and as much as I live in a nonsense filled space...I didn’t want it to look like a Sam goody circa 1998
