@layne - I'm with you. There's power in numbers! We can do this! (says the guy with Gravity opened in the next tab)...

I know I said on a previous page that its quite refreshing to have take the approach of not being 'label-completist', but I reckon if you guys have all of Mondo's stuff so far, and the 'to-buy/not-to-buy' dilemma is driving you nuts, and you can afford it, then just go for it. Which would bother you more - not having just one out of their c.20 releases or spending however much it'd cost you for a record you might not listen to? If its only one of their releases in every twenty you don't dig, then I'd probably be completist myself. Its when you don't like 1 in every 4 of a label's releases that its time to question whether being 'label-completist' is a good idea.

That said, I'm sure you could pick this one up elsewhere, even if you don't get it from Mondo, probably cheaper if you're not in the US. This is what I intend to do (I'm one of the few who actually like this score), but refuse to pay the £44 ($73) it'd cost me to get it direct from Mondo.

At the same time, I bet all of us have more than one label or artist for which we are completists, so buying that 1 out of 20 might not be a lot, but applying that across a bunch of labels and artists can start to rack up the money.

I'm also finding out that in the majority of instances, the ... anxiety? ... of not having that one release goes away over time -- same as the excitement of getting that special release that you were waiting for for a long time. There is always another "special" release to get excited about. The hamster wheel continues to turn.

Over the past couple of years, I've been going through my collection and getting rid of things that I'm only holding onto because they are special or rare but I never listen to and more than likely won't listen to. This attitude has been freeing, but at the same time even that cycle of listening/selling/buying can be tiring.

The problem is that I feel like I have to cut the cord now...or I will be making that excuse for the next 10 years....I would say that honestly, of all of the mondo releases, I think 3 of them are essential -- Drive, The Beyond and Poltergeist -- I could easily live without all of the others. I really regret that intoxicated evening when I was outside smoking alone and found Maniac as a BUY IT NOW on eBay...totally not into it. I am not hating on Mondo, but at some point, you have to let go. I would rather continue my attempt to collect everything from Castleface records...I know those are all going to be awwesome...so choices have to be made. The question is....do I sell my Maniac for what I paid for it....

@Layne and 4000days -- Don't give in...we are strong...we are three....satan is good...satan is our pal...

I don't see this particular release selling out any time soon. Especially with the vague variant description & the May ship date. I bet you'll be able to snatch one up on Ebay eventually for under the retail price. Heck, I just saw a Blue Sunshine black vinyl sell for $13 recently! Just gotta be patient. In the end it'll feel like you got a better deal ;)

I still want to get Mondo's poltergeist. :'( And I need the WW's Day of the Dead, OOS's Last House on the left and select few others that I missed out on before I joined the horror/soundtrack gang. At least LHOTL is being re-released on RSD. I'm hoping the picture disc doesn't sound like poo.

Day of the Dead is an especially sore topic because I could have preordered and I didn't because I thought my brother did as a Christmas present. ::sigh:: I want the zombie flesh one and I don't want to pay the outrageous prices on amazon or ebay for it.

My guess is like you all said though, the recent releases will be had on ebay for decent prices. I wonder when they will post the other Blue Sunshine variant in the store?

Day of the dead shouldn't be too hard to find. I still see that on local record store shelves

They are going for like 40-50 and up on amazon/ebay. Maybe I will see if my local stores can order one from a supplier somehow even though LITA and WW is out of stock.

@Layne - you are not only holding back because you are resisting the urge to be a Mondo completest, but also owning a soundtrack you aren't particularly fond off!

Its a double whammy my friend!

I wonder if it was at risk of flying away as quick as the earlier releases you'd have joined the dark side already.... HAHAHA!

I appreciate the link, my friend, but I have heard it already. It's streaming in a few places. I was saying that the ability to stream this score was something I wish was available for more of Mondo's releases.

Well...I made my first direct order (via the website) with Mondo back on the 21st Feb...for Blue Sunshine and Here Comes The Devil...and up to this point, I have received nothing at all...nearly 4 weeks have elapsed. With the excessive postal charges that are applied...I'm amazed I can't track the order. For now, I'll have to wait for a response to my enquiry. Anyone else had similar problems? No one wants this type of thing on their first order and I'm now concerned about my subsequent order that I made for The Omen.

In a similar position horseloverphat. Ordered from UK on all you've listed and heard nothing. It was the same last order and they just generally show up some 6 weeks later (ish). Nobody's in a hurry it seems.

6 weeks?....I could walk to Mondo and back in that time and I'm based in Ireland! I find that incredible tbh...I've never had to wait 6 weeks for any delivery....and that includes China/Japan. That said...I do appreciate the info Oiche, thanks for that nugget. I'll hang fire and see what transpires.

Was all excited to see my Mondo box last night for my order of Blue Sunshine and Here Comes the Devil. Open it up and no Blue Sunshine, only Here Comes the Devil. They forgot to put the Blue Sunshine in the box even though it is on the invoice.
I did listen to Here Comes the Devil and Love it. Great Music with a nice package, cool art and some good liner notes.

No wonder Mondo don't have their own forum - it'd be filled with people complaining about their service!

Finally got my copies of Here Comes the Devil and Blue Sunshine today. I got the variant of Here Comes, but 2 black Blue sunshines. Oh well. I am listening to Blue Sunshine now, I like it -- pretty cool. I definitely don't need 2 black copies though!

Just got my shipping conf for The Omen, but I'm in the UK so that'll take an age to arrive. Shipped sooner than I expected though.
