It’s the only version of Around the World I have, and yeah, it’s noisy - I did just have it ultrasonically cleaned, but I haven’t thrown it on to see if it’s better.
I did just realize they did repress it on black vinyl - wonder if that one is any better? Maybe I should grab one and see.

I ordered it as I don't have a copy from Sonar. I'll report back on the pressing quality once I receive it. Seems like LITA was the cheapest out the three sites posted over in the RSD thread. $33 shipped.

Infini is cool. I like his Aquarium record a lot. Superman is good but definitely is a 1984 record..

I hear nice things about stressoramas but don't have these or drammatest. Mr diabolicus is pretty cool, someone has a french pressing listed much cheaper than the Italian. B81 has a couple very good tracks, a couple of ones I disliked and the rest I remember as middle of the road easy listening. B82 has some jazzier numbers I like. The three on Vedette are all experimental classical style.

I do really like that record, as well as Superman.

Thanks for the info @tex. I sampled the two songs off of Aquarium on Sonar's bandcamp. I really dug both of those tracks, I think I'll try to track down a copy of that, seems to still be in the $30 range thankfully.

Very bizarre library. One track sounds like a nuclear bomb exploding, and there is cave man style yelling. Banging on rocks and sticks.

There are a couple of cooler tracks more resembling musical ideas on the B side. "Mammuth" is like this weird dark drone background with mammoth roar sounds. "Plantigradi" is basically the same thing but with snarly tiger sounds.

besides the ones being mentioned i really like the 8000 Volts record, which is more n the rocky psychedelic side. also i really dig Melos E Priche, a wonderful record!

still making my way through the Leo catalogue, played this one a few times now. nice folky/rocky and even country inspired stuff. a fun record! can't imagine somebody was crazy or desperate enough to pay $1000 for it, because it is NOT worth that money! i guess most are after it because of Gaslamp Killer or Madlib hype. a reisue would still be appreciated i think...

Recently digging these two jazzy bangers.
These reissues can be got cheap. Enjoyable reissues, Nothing special in terms of sound quality but, at least for Rotary 4, I can't see a reissue sounding any better. Pretty sure all masters from these sessions were lost.
Here and Now Vol 1 deserves a lot more attention.

library world is crazy.

i remember 15 years ago i found into an italian newsstand the complete serie of costanza 10k, stacked in a corner.
i didn't even know what it was, but the newsagent wanted to throw them away.
they were so colorful that I loaded them all into my arms and went home.
years later i sold almost all of them, except the less valuable ones.
this is one of the cheapy ones i kept, but then the funky underdrama track hyped and probably i'll sell this too.
there are hundreds of anecdotes, 2 years ago a friend of mine found a near mint copy of feelings on carosello in a junk shop.

i found another copy of the Nel Mondo Del Lavoro record for 20€ not too long ago and in the instagram world it appears to be a record that some sunnyboys spend four digits on. have insisted to pay the seller 50€ even if he did not want to have it. even if these bargain experiences got really scarce, they still happen from time to time but mostly in the real world, not online...

true, in real world is still possible.
living in italy, there are several 'older people' who still have records in their home.
they often have no idea of value, especially library music or private press records that many years ago they casually found somewhere.

last december an elderly jazz lover invited me to his home, about 2000 jazz records.
i found 5 gino marinacci records inside his collection. he knew they had some value.

i don't like to cheat but I don't even want to be a fool who misses certain occasions, you know.
so i paid 500 euro for a stock of 15 records and put some gems on it.
la morte accarezza a mezzanotte OST, la morte risale a ieri sera OST, 5 marinacci's records.

now, this is an extreme case i know.
usually happens that people open discogs and shoot hallucinating prices, knowing nothing, ignoring conditions and press.
it is truly mortifying to spend whole afternoons in these surreal negotiations.

but sometimes it is legitimate to take some satisfaction ahah

This is not possible here sadly and has not been for a long time. Occasionally, very rarely, I will find maybe some Capitol, Network, Omnimusic, cinemusic library in the wild. Maybe some de Wolfe, chappell or bruton. that is about all I have ever seen. Even a legit shop with a copy of something Italian and good, that they know is good and price accordingly, is very rare.

Our shops here lock up $30 reissues in "collectible record" bins and put $25 commons on their "rare wall"

I pretty much stopped even trying to dig through used bins except on rare occasions. And at record shows any real good records you find are likely to be priced 50-100% over the real value. These dealers are sad they swing for the fences on everything and keep carrying the same stuff to the same shows year after year and wondering why it doesn't sell
