^oh boy @Bez! i wish i could be with you now, haha!

did a (hopefully) nice brew last thursday, which is at fermentation process right now. it is supposed to be a IPA this time, and i am going to get a little hoppier with some dryhopping on top. can't wait to taste it.

What hops are you using for dry hopping? What style IPA did you make? I haven't brewed anything in almost 18 months, I miss it but my brewing partner moved south and brewing by myself is kind of boring and a lot of work these days.

it is a clone recipe of the classic Sierra Nevada IPA. have three different hops that i could use: Amarillo, Citra, Chinook

if you can give me any educated recommendation, i would be really thankful :)

Do you mean their standard pale ale? or was it a clone of their IPA?

If you are talking about their standard pale ale then you would probably want to go with Amarillo as it's similar to Cascade which is what they use as the main hop in their pale ale (if memory serves correctly). Personally I love Citra and that might be interesting experiment to dry hop it in that but it's just that an experiment and I wouldn't want to ruin a clone recipe if you are going for a specific result.

If I have some down time this fall I may make a stout but I've been so busy it's hard since brewing a batch is a 5-7 hour ordeal for me.

i think it is their standard pale ale but i am not sure. have to double check. also, the dry hopping is not part of the recipe but i did this two times already (without dry hopping) and i always thought it might take a little more hop aroma and since i am the experimental type of guy, i will give it a try this time :)

really might use that Amarillo and Citra and see what it will do to the taste...

Kid is in bed. Wife is out with a friend. Time to drink beer and watch horror movies.

I'm not a big fan of the rum barrel aged Pumking, then again I'm not a huge fan of rum so that makes sense :)

I've been drinking Warlock all week and had a really good dark sour from Grimm today for lunch.

If you don't mind me asking, where are you located @334578rpm? I have no clue how far ST distribution extends.

Central Ohio.
Have you tried their cinnamon roll ale? It's quite good!

What did you think of that one? I have yet to have a Milkshake IPA that I would drink more than once and adding Pumpkin doesn't necessarily make me more confident in liking that.

Yeah, I didn't care for it at all. I'm not sure what I was expecting, but it definitely wasn't that. It didn't work as an IPA or as a pumpkin beer. Way too sweet.
Honestly, the can design drew me in.

I would have bought it based on can design and wanting to know what that actually tastes like. I used to brew beer and as far as I can tell the Milkshake IPA's are just lactose loaded IPA's some one more informed can probably correct me on that but that's what it tastes like. They are too sweet and never taste very good.

Sierra Nevada rarely steers me wrong, and this is no exception. An excellent 2x IPA.
