My turntable's been out of commission for the last few weeks, so very, very happy to get back to spinning.

Really, I figured it would've been master tape. Guess I need to find an original sometime, I managed to find all his others in the wild over the years but never plantasia

I happen to know (don't ask me why... it's a very long, boring and painful Ondes Positives label-related tale...) that there are no masters around for ANY of the Mort Garson albums. Kinda surprising, frankly, considering that he recorded under a bunch of different names and with different collaborators, on a number of labels. So they ALL lost their Mort-related tapes? Crazy.

I will spill the beans one day, but I don't want to upset Sacred Bones/anyone else and their upcoming Mort Plans...

This finally arrived

Akira Ifukube - War of the Gargantuas OST.

For a picture disc it sounds pretty good. There is low level noise like most other picture discs but definitely much quieter than others I've heard, for example house of the devil. Secondly the sound quality is limited to the original recording.
But! having said the above I'm really enjoying this record it's a surprisingly enjoyable OST, so in that respect the quality is certainly good enough, and the pictures are awesome.
This is apparently a one time pressing.
Also I don't think the sleeve is PVC, it has a different feel to it.

This is fantastic, so glad I finally got this. 5-6 cues from Prisma sonori, other cues by the usual italians like Micalizzi and Gazzani. Gazzani has some nice cues on this. Prisma sonori is surprisingly great even if it's a lot of classical.

How has the summer been for you people? Mine is coming to an end in a month when I start school to become a gardener. Otherwise it's been a pretty mild summer so far, often 13-15c. But holiday in a week so YAY

@havershaw that looks fantastic

The last two contain some great 80 electro jams, amongst other things.
Weirdly the LP contains a selection of stems that create a majority of the main track on the ep, but that song isnt on the lp :/

The track is the theme to spin off series
'Microcomputer Detective' how I feel at times digging online for records :D

Absurds soundtrack is so good, I wish I actually liked the film. I found both Absurd and Antropophagus fairly boring films which is saying a lot because I love so many other films similar to them.

Of course love that Godzilla sleeve too!
@Dollar, here is the discogs listing. Looks like a remaster or repress of the '76 stereo re-recording by the National Philharmonic Orchestra in the UK. I believe the original mono masters are long lost, sadly.

Regarding the Godzilla OST, the King Records reissues are very nice quality.

This sounds quite superb- it's not Vangelis, but the attention to detail is mighty impressive and extremely considered, so it gets a solid pass on ScoJo's re-recording veto :)

Comes an honourable 2nd place in my Blade Runner OST reach-fors, behind the Mighty Greek's own album and ahead of the New American Orchestra.

Nice, that is exactly what I was hoping for, and I am looking forward to checking out a copy here soon. I remember way back when I first got a copy of the NAO album and being so underwhelmed by the experience. I thought I had mis-remembered how great the soundtrack was...

Absolute French bad-assitude.

I paid a kings ransom for this OG press at the time, then a few months later = REISSUED! Heh.
