Still need this one, and doesn't look like Spontaneous is being reissued after all. A copy of that apparently went for 1,800€

I would buy Trip for 500€ without thinking twice

The top shelf Alessandro stuff is getting close to irreplaceable

Hey @milliondollars

Those AR Luciani Publispei are intriguing me now, despite always scaring me off with those late 70s release dates. I guess I'm most interested in Pericolo, Medicina E Societá ,Nel Mondo Del Lavoro , and Gli Occhi Sulla Citta' just based on Discog descriptions and titles. Any chance you have a rip or some files I could peruse?

cheers @sostark! i think you have picked the most interesting ones. sinister/odd/dark/dramatic stuff mostly. i do not have a rip and also i am not able to rip with my current set-up. i am sorry. but i am sure, these will turn on LMT at some point...

@tex: these are the most interesting Alessandroni's in terms of easiness and style. managed to get rips from these a while ago and these accompany me and my family every time when we are heading to the sun for vacation. just perfect stuff. now that Trip Around The World got reissued, i call for Vacanze as this one is even better (imo). in fact, i would rate Vacanze the best De Filippi record after Meccanizzazione. Sonor, Four Flies, Cinedelic, Cometa (the right holders?)...somebody's got do do it!!!

I can't find vacanze and have not seen a copy in at least five years. I need it, the original Alessandroni Farfalla and a couple of the Intermezzo and I will have a full SR set.

full SR set?! damn! i am quite sure i had all of them at some point...but not all at once, haha! also...if you want to go for all of them, you need all the misprinted sleeves from the last batch unless you don't want to be a pussy. haha! but seriously...you want all of them?

there is a copy of Vacanze on discogs now plus one sold last year: https://www.discogs.com/R-De-Filippi-A- ... se/6716428

by the way...some useless Vacanze related knowledge i have shared on the LMT forum:
some of you may have noticed that for SR ST 140 to ST ST 145 (the final batch of the label) new versions have appeared on discogs. apparently, they are identical except missing the SR logo on the front of the cover. i have noticed this difference with Vacanze and Atmosfera Bellica some time ago. i got told that the versions without the SR logo were misprints that were withdrawn and scrapped. can anyone confirm this or has heard something similar? it would explain why most copies of Vacanze do not have a cover. maybe they have distributed some copies while they were waiting for the new covers (with the logo) being printed? of course it i a speculation only and would leave the question open why only Vacanze copies have that kind of issue.

but it would explain why most of the 140 to 145 copies that appear online (popsike,...) do have the cover with the logo and only very few are without...

would be fantastic if someone knows a little more about this case!
***edit***
i know of at least three people who painted their own Vacenze cover out of desperation...some internet proof:

That.... is actually not a bad idea. LOL

Something must have happened to the covers, I don't see any other SR titles pop up without covers like this one does. I guess someone bought one for 800 euros? Which seems really crazy for this record, but who knows.

A few I don't have yet, that are not priorities, like Funny Boys, Meridione E Barocco, Vecchio Cinema, and I guess i don't have Atmosfera Bellica yet either (is it even good? I have not listened to it before). I definitely need Vacanze and Farfalla though, unfortunately when I find a farfalla I am sure it will be a huge punch in the nuts.

But from the first one I ever got, I forget which one it was now, I got addicted to that SR logo!!

Completely understand about the ripping/setup inability. Without wanting to sound like a nube--what is LMT?

another industrial lib. this one is very inovative actually! the artist has made some field recordings (in factories mainly), has looped them and has added some insturmentals. insane meccanizzazione AKA the first sample based hip hop instrumental album, haha!

Hey million, can you take off your comments on Meccanizzazione, better yet write one that says it's overrated crap. But it isn't a four figure record on Discogs so I am very much hoping one falls out sometime using the discogs history

Marchetti flexing his range on this one. The record is structured as four themes each with several sequences with different instrumentation and style of arrangement. There are some magical moments as good as anything in the genre, but they don't last. It's a weird record in a way with a more end-use oriented structure like a British or US library. So it flows a bit strangely as a standalone listen and is simultaneously varied and repetitive. I see the usual suspects list this for super high prices...it isn't that caliber of record.

with my (sometimes) sharp reviews i want to encourage (or rather force, haha!) labels to reissue this stuff as pepole need to have them in their collections in any physical format. it is funny as some people really envy me for my reviews and i get hateful feedback from time to time. only recently one manic collector is acusing me of having four discogs accounts and stuff like that. that dude is really crazy, stalking me, writing me messages all the time. it is almost amusing what theories he is coming up with. but that's another story...

if you really wish to remove my comment on the price, i can do so. just let me know! as for Meccanizzazione in particular, I have to disappoint you as the demand for is is really huge. the chance that someone will come up with this record, not knowing what it is, is quite small today. i have heard of insane offers from US collectors but that one is even in italy on huge demand. i think this one will disappear even if someone lists it for like 2000€ on discogs...

It might, you never know!! I had one offered to me in 2015 for €400 and at that time could not afford to get it. But if you wouldn't mind just clipping out the four figure part haha

I think there is no pushing the reissue labels anymore, the reissue wave is maybe over. It took two or three labels to get Trip pressed on 300 copies, so a title like Meccanizzazione has no chance.

400€ sounds like a bargain today, haha! the copy Waxidermy was pointing at 10 years ago was $140 in EX/EX. it's an unexpected turn because they were charging $150 for Bossey&Hawkes and Bosworth's, that dealers throw at you for $15 nowadays.

i don't think the reissue wave is over yet. just look at the recent Sonor - Sorgini's Lavoro e Tempo Libero. that one i quite in demand. the only problem is licensing. Goldfinger/Usignolo or Flipper seems to be fairly easy while Sermi, Gemelli or Leonardi are a pain. it's not impossible but it's tough. Sonor managed to do Drammatico and Ritmo Dell'Industria so i believe they could do Meccanizzazione of Fanua Marina somehow.

so i am changing the review from:
Some of nowadays sky high prices for library records are questionable and an issue for itself but for me, it is absolutely no wonder that in 2018 two copies sold for the most insane four digit sums that I know of...

to:
Some of nowadays sky high prices for library records are justified as people have too much money, but for me, it is absolutely marvellous that in 2018 two copies sold for the most laughable two digit sums that I know of...

Found in the wild... A Dallas TX address stamped on a Chappell library. Who'd a thunk it.

This is a pretty decent record too, definitely one I'll hang onto.

Can't stop listening to this. A dozen times at least this week. What a fucking record!! There's also another version with weird dolls on the cover. I guess technically it's a library record? Killer orchestrated jazz record with a heavy italian flavor ... "Sonatina in beat" is sonic heroin... he wrote it so it starts all light like a little Mozart sonata for the first few measures, and they just nuke the thing with raw Italian vibe, and the strings come in on top like honey pouring down on the whole thing. Ridiculous!

It's here from some comp, but something's a little different about the sound in this video, it's pitched a bit
