Ugh... this makes me feel queasy. We released that back in March 2018- almost a year!! I can't believe you've waited this long, you're a saint @deaf.

I'll seriously have to consider whether we go with 2HD in future as our US stockist, esp. considering we turned down Mondo Distributed on Messiah of Evil because we wanted to honour our 'exclusive' through 2HD. I just hope folks aren't out there still awaiting that release too! :-/

Anyway, very happy to hear it finally landed @deaf- be intetested to know your thoughts.

Really enjoying this DW reissue. Here are some thoughts for anyone sitting fence-wise on this one., hope they're helpful:

- The pressing is superb, minimal surface noise and nice punchy cut. There's a lot of music squeezed onto this LP but it doesn't appear to suffer for it. One note: the last track on the LP, 'Buio Omega (Film Version)' is noticeably less hi-fi than the rest of the album and includes the odd sound effect - it's been lifted from a print of the film for sure. It has inherent distortion and is quieter, and therefore seems a wise choice for final track on a bulging side at 33rpm. I'll need to check against my AMS to see if this is a new addition.

- Regarding the extra 17 tracks, they are mostly very short bits of underscore and some variations of the main themes. I dig it, very cohesive listen. When the incidental tracks are by Goblin, I'm always going to be inherently interested I guess.

- Ortiz' artwork throughout the sleeve is damned nice, particularly like the gatefold inner.

I have the previous AMS reissue from 2013 and must say I'm very happy to add this expansion to my bulging Goblin section.
Are the additional, previously unheard 'stinger' tracks essential? And the multiple iterations of the main theme? Possibly not, though I do find it all works really well as sequenced here (very different run order from the AMS release...)

*EDIT*
Did a quick compare of the main title track on both versions, and there is negligible difference to my ears - both volume and dynamics are very similar if not identical. Perhaps DW used the same vinyl mastering as AMS (for the 'album' tracks at least), which would make sense since they worked so closely with them on the release.
A little gift, my original credits sheet for this release with extra info....

I would say dont' do exclusive releases with him. I don't want to take away from his business he seems like a perfectly fine guy but that's nonsense that @deaf had to wait that long. I'm not sure who you work with in the US but Light in the Attic is great, I've had zero issues with them, Edsawesomesounds (he's small but has been my go to for soundtracks over the last year) and of course Mondo to drive up "collector desire" and hopefully sell through stock quick.

I like 2HD but yeah, very slow. I have orders from releases months ago that haven't shipped. Still waiting on Westworld S2. My gf had gotten me a gift card for the site, but I told her not to get any because I'm gonna be buying a lot less. Great selection, but VERY SLOW. And nearly every release I've received has been damaged in some way. Corner ding, crushed ends, etc.

quite surprised not to see you guys spinning this Vagi(en)na's nuggets pink circles. i have passed on a few of these but Degenerated Love AKA Abarten der Korperlichen Libe is fantastic. best in the series for me. i have the feeling that these get more and more expensive with every new release but hey, demand determines the price...

another candidate for my needless question mark list which got quiet a big update recently. peep if you are intoxicated enough!

I was hoping Waxworks release would be more on the line of this. Since I have an original MCA I may let my Waxwork edition go.

If this is legit, it's a great deal for a great score. This is the version I reach for when I'm in the mood for some J&B and
a game of chess.

Death Waltz have kicked me in the guts with this release. Out of nowhere (ish - saw the film recently and LOVED it, noted that the score was special too) this is the best new film score I've heard in a good while. It was even (though it pains me regardless) thoroughly worth the extra £14 Cunting Customs Fees™.

I hate to be reductive, but it's not out of line to compare this with Howard Shore (the title track), Thomas Newman in parts (both delicate and powerful), Hans Zimmer's 'comic book' work, and Johannsson. It's really that good. Oh, and there's even the odd Big Modern Synth cue, a la Johnny Jewel. Ola Fløttum is the real deal. *scurries off for more intel*

Btw - the rear OBI proclaims 'The Wind' and 'Sequence Break' coming soon. Any ideas? Are they possibly DW Originals?

Sequence Break is a low budget indie horror sci-fi movie from Graham Skipper, who played one of the brothers in ''Beyond the Gates'', starring Chase Williamson (the other brother from Beyond the Gates) with a retro vibe, it's trying to do Cronenberg body horror but centered on this guy who works a Retro Arcade machine shop. I thought it was better than Beyond the Gates, but has the same kinds of flaws. I don't remember the music too much, I think I liked it, I saw the movie at Fantasia Festival in 2017. Music by Van Hughes.

The wind is most likely the BEN LOVETT scored movie from 2018 I guess. don't know the movie, but yeah gimme more Ben Lovett.
