Went to finally see Halloween yesterday. I was a bit disappointed. Overall I like it but a lot of elements I didn’t. And it was not scary or frightening.

Suspiria was a better experience. I went in thinking it could be an overly long movie with a lot of pretentious bits in it.
It was not boring. It never felt as long as it is. I really liked it although there were also some parts I didn’t care for. Don’t want to spoil anything so I am not going to explain exactly what parts.
Very happy I got to see it in the cinema. Score was well integrated. Even the parts with Thom York singing. It had more parts in common with the original Suspiria then I was expecting. But the original I could see over and over. This one not.

I don't think I've seen RotLD2 in well over a decade, didn't like it last time I watched it, it felt like a more comedic take on the first film.

Low tier Fulci, late period giallo with some Flashdance sprinkled in. I had a fun time watching it. A lot of awkwardly long and lingering shots on breasts.

Last nights viewing

This one is all over the damn place. It runs a mile a minute so you're never bored but also never quite sure who, what and why you are following different characters. There are either 3 main characters or 3 side characters, I couldn't tell. It never stays on one for very long. It had lots of potential but ultimately falls pretty flat, at least for me it did. It really bums me out that this got made and Adam Green / Christopher Columbus can't get Killer Pizza off the ground which this movie ripped off certain elements from.

I don't own Hardware, I've been apprehensive to pick it up at the price as it seems to be a pretty divisive film. Lots of folks love it while others hate it. I have seen feedback on the transfer and it is excellent so you are in for a visual treat. I need to grab Sole Survivor (severely underrated, ignored) Savage Streets, Slave of a Cannibal God and Grizzly eventually.

I watched the documentary All Things Must Pass last night, about the rise and demise of Tower Records. I liked it and it will enter the regular doco rotation that includes It Might Get Loud, Helvetica, Not Quite Hollywood and I Want That Record.

@zuko definitely agree, I immediately ordered the soundtrack off discogs for $10 based on the opening song. Haha. I can't wait to spin it.


And here I thought the first film was super offensive (baldies...lol) but damn do they push every button here, throwing around the n-word, darkies, spicks, it's all on the table. Way more boobs in this one. These two sequels are great in the simple fact that they don't fuck around, people start dying immediately and they continue to die every few minutes. The gore gags are fun, some great, others weak due to the budget. Kind of cool to appreciate a series that I always just assumed was terrible and generally ignored when looking at the covers on the shelf years ago in the video stores. I hope @ScoJo watches both of them soon, curious to see what you think.

I've only watched the first sequel so far, enjoyed the heck out of it! Pamela Springsteen was a terrific (if pretty oddball) psycho. Pretty much thrill a minute too! Sooo much gratuitous everything in flick!

I don't know guys, I bought the Scream Factory releases for SC 1-2-3 based on my enjoyment of SC1, without having seen SC2 and 3, but I have to say they left me kinda cold. It's all good that you guys are enjoying them, they have some fun moment, I just wasn't too impressed with them. Maybe I should revist them too, maybe I'll be more receptive. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

The sequels are simply nothing like SC1, name aside. It's a big disservice they do to themselves. They are fun and *ahem* campy slashers, but they have none of the atmosphere and gravitas of the original.

One of the few Thanksgiving horror films. Lucky for me this one is a blast.
