"
Graham just delivered the final art for The Beyond…<br>
Oh my…
"

This is a 'regular' release – i.e. not RSD – right?

I'm pretty excited to compare this with the mondo release. i really enjoyed the soundtrack and thought mondo did a pretty good job with the presentation, but i'm pumped to see what you guys will be doing with it.

Anybody else have problems with the Ms. 45 download? Forbidden World was fine but I have tried Ms.45 3 times. It downloads really slow (takes about an hour) but seems to download ok, I add it to i-tunes (23 tracks in alphabetical order, not sure if it is the score, elements and bonus tracks or just the score) but when I put it on my ipod and try to play it it skips through each track without playing them than locks up my ipod so I have to reset my ipod to play anything. I wouldn't be suprised if it was my crappy computer but if anyone has any tips they would be appreciated.
Thanks

I really like Mondo's sleeve for The Beyond. Artists work is sometimes to taste, but that said, I'm sure the Death Waltz version will SOUND BETTER than Mondo's given that it's from the master tapes. Who knows what Mondo sourced their vinyl from. Looking forward to it.

Speaking of which (not to get too off-topic here) does anyone know what source Mondo's Beyond is from?

The Mondo pressing of The Beyond is crazy amazing. Looks great and sounds even better. They even got James Plotkin to do the vinyl mastering, so I'd be extremely surprised if the DW repress sounds much better (please prove me wrong). It's unfortunate the Mondo version sells for so much now and out of print, because I wish Death Waltz could focus on other great Frizzi releases instead of one that was just reissued a few years ago (never mind the Dagored pressing a few years before that).

The Beyond is great news as I bent the upper corner on my copy from Mondo. Not even sure how it happened but it looks nasty.

I'd love more non-gatefold releases. Gatefolds take up so much space! I've started selling off metal releases because so many of them are gatefolds with posters & I need the space more than the music.

What does a "regular release" mean? I guess it won't be part of the upcoming subscription volume, am I right?

^^No, I think he means it's just not a RSD release. So a regular release as in 1x sub version, 1x webstore exclusive (maybe) and 1x store version.

Don't get me wrong, Mondo's Beyond does sound good, and had a good mastering, it's my favorite Mondo release. But I wonder what their source was, since Spencer is touting the master tapes from Frizzi, seems like that's a new thing and wasn't available on the previous Mondo version (otherwise Spencer probably wouldn't be making a point of saying it). Obviously something of a lower generation (like a master tape) is going to sound better than something from later down the chain so to speak.

Ms.45 and Forbidden World just hit my letterbox and holy crap are they fantastic. I can guarantee that FW will be getting quite a lot of casual play over the next few weeks. None of the pics I saw did justice to just how glittery it is. I didn't really notice much in the way of surface noise, it's certainly nowhere near as prominent as on the mp3s that got sent out, but it might become a bit more obvious once I get around to upgrading to some better speakers.

Now I have to dig out and watch my Forbidden World Blu-Ray again before finding a way to beg, borrow, or steal the money for Sub 4.

Okay, veering a wee bit off-topic here but I re-watched Forbidden World last night and it is a far better movie than I had remembered.

The colours and lighting are great, the direction is fun and creative, the editing is punchy as hell (particularly that fantastic montage with the sex scene) and the music, how did I not notice how amazing the music was the first time I watched it? The whole thing is so much smarter, funnier, and more creative than I gave it credit for. So glad the soundtrack gave me the push to watch it again, it's taken a spot among my favourites now.

I received yesterday Forbidden World & MS.45, both releases are great! I'm only a bit disappointed about the MS.45 poster...the nun without the gun it's not what I have expected...I mean, for this fantastic picture a quad poster with full image would have been better (without the gun it's more like a portrait from convent...) :D

The MS.45 soundtrack reminds me a lot the work of John Zorn and the funky moments are awesome!

The cover of Forbidden World isn't that bad but seems an uncomplete work, with full colour would have been much better (it's only my opinion).

Finally, I got a spare booklet for Assault On Precinct 13...compared to the one arrived with the vinyl I noticed only an error in assembling the middle pages...well, we found the real Maniac out there...it's called Spencer!!! :D ;)

My DW webstore version of Ms.45 arrived today!

Already heard the music via the mp3's so will have a spin later but have to say I absolutely love this black/white split.

The Sub edition is gorgeous but this one isn't too shabby either ;)

Forbidden World really is an amazing film . Always been a fave since I owned the Thorn EMI videocassette and I've always loved the score ...

I really excited today I have found someone at our pressing plant that is obsessed with effects and are as board of the standard ones as I am !
You know what this means ?
