I just found out last night that Claudio Simonetti's Goblin is performing their live rescore to Suspiria about an hour and a half from me next friday. I just grabbed tickets for 6th row center. This is my first live rescore I've ever been to. I almost made it to a Frizzi one a year or two ago but had to change plans at the last minute. I can't wait.
Nice! I'm making a 3 hour trek to see them In Massachusetts on 11/25!

I saw CS's Goblin perform with Dawn of the Dead a few years ago (had the honour of being their dj/warmup too which was awesome...) and it was so damn good.
Equally thrilling was the hour-long set of tunes played after the flick, which I gather is a standard thing from what @deaf and others have said. This is a gig in itself basically, and it's unthinkable that this alone will not knock you out of your boots. They played 'Suspiria' as part if their set when I saw them, and it was pure... chills.

Not sure if I can contain myself after reading this...

This label Deathbomb Arc put out a 20-year anniversary subscription series earlier this year. It contains one CD and a bunch of cassettes. There are a few spots left. The reason why I'm putting this here is because the CD is a soundtrack by Jonathan Snipes, who did the music to Starry Eyes, Room 237, and Excess Flesh. Also, one of the cassettes is by the other composer, William Hutson, of the Room 237 soundtrack. It is questionable if these releases will be available outside of this series.

Also, the final subscriptions are on sale for $45 (before shipping), regular $70. Link HERE

Nick Zammuto - We The Animals OST LP. Limited to 2,000, the vinyl also comes with an animation cel and a booklet. To me, the sound sample is a little like a mix of The Album Leaf and Mogwai.

For anyone interested in this deal, I ended up buying it. A few days later (today). I received a package with all of the subscription items plus an extra cassette and a code of live material by Snipes.

According to Pitchfork, tomorrow Waxwork is dropping a reissue of their The Warriors offering from a couple of years back. The article makes it seem like there's new material and/or new mastering, but it is not at all clear to me what that might be.

Wtf??

No I reckon PF have this garbled, Id be very surprised if there are new tracks on this. From WWs own teasing it looks like straight repress in diff colours.

Flamin hope so anyway as what you suggest would be an immediate purchase and i already sprang for their Inferno today and have funds stashed for Burbs and Drag/Hell.

Theyre killing me!!

P4K just doesn't know what the hell they are talking about. This is just a simple repress and the same goes for Krampus.

Full press release from WW to help clear up any confusion:

Waxwork Records is excited to announce the long awaited re-pressing of THE WARRIORS. This deluxe double LP features the re-mastered 1979 original soundtrack, in addition to, the vinyl debut of the complete film score by Barry DeVorzon.

Directed by Walter Hill and based off of the 1965 novel by Sol Yurick of the same name, THE WARRIORS is the absolute definition of an influential cult-classic film. THE WARRIORS has permeated the landscape of pop culture, music, film, fashion, comics, and video games.

Waxwork worked directly from the original master tapes of both the original 1979 soundtrack and film score to bring audiences a brand new transfer of every musical cue heard in the movie, for the very first time on vinyl.

Features artwork by Marvel Comics artist Dave Rapoza, Double LP 180 gram “Warriors” red and brown vinyl, 180 gram “Boppers” purple vinyl, printed insert, and deluxe packaging.

Release Date: Friday, November 23rd
SRLP: $40

Just a quick heads up, I just found out Holy Mountain Printing has been running a Black Friday/Cyber Monday special, 25% off everything in their store. This includes the Godzilla Vs Megalon LP. $22 shipped in the US. I'm glad they still had some, I know the first 300 sold out fast so he repressed them. Also some of the Godzilla shirts are pretty awesome, I'm not a huge fan of the shirts he prints on, they cheap but that's reflected in the prices. I love my Watch Hooper shirt I got from them, I just wish it was on softer cotton and not nearly as much ink was used.

There’s a 3 CD expanded remaster of Bram Stoker’s Dracula coming out on Lala land today, shipping in December. I bring it up here because I’ve noticed that a lot of titles that get expanded lalaland releases seem to eventually also find their way to a mondo or waxwork release as well so perhaps we’ll see a nice expanded vinyl edition coming down the line for this, which would be lovely.

indeed! man i'd even take just a straight reissue, my copy is the Portuguese pressing I think and its scratched as all hell. I know some people have had some QC problems lately with waxwork, but i'd love for this to go to them. it would make a nice companion to Nosferatu and Salem's lot. (and then maybe someone can get on Goldenthal's Interview With The Vampire score for good measure)

One of my all-time favorite original scores. This is the first expanded release, correct? I'm excited enough about the expanded digital/CD remaster... let alone thoughts of a future vinyl pressing. Hot tip, @Hatter! This was not on my radar at all... two hours of the original composed score!

Yessir, i've never seen anything other than the standard track listing. I remember buying this CD when i was in high school at an FYE. I'm with you on this being one of my all time favorite scores. the film itself ranks very highly for me, one of my favorite adaptations of the source material (and i've seen them all, believe you me) with almost all the major characters intact although with a vastly different emphasis on theme than the novel.

The film is in my top 5 Coppola (I mean, Godfather I, II, The Conversation, and Apocalypse Now are tough acts to beat haha), and IMO is the last great film from one of the most wildly uneven filmmakers ever. Even Annie Lennox's "Love song for a vampire" is one of my favorite tracks from the entirely of her career.

I bought the BSD CD in high school as well. That thing got a lot of time with my laser. I believe this was just announced on Black Friday, no? Probably their best release since the Beverley Hills Cops and David Shire's Apocalypse Now.

Also, in a post from the Waxwork FB group, I saw a lot of "educated guesses" that this'll be a part of next year's sub.
