Saw Three Billboards outside Ebbing Missouri yesterday, pretty good effort. Lots of odd notes and references, lurching from comedy to violence in split seconds... but the sore thumb I spotted was Love Theme from Donnagio’s Don’t Look Now. I’m just not convinced those rednecks would watch a Roeg film.

Apart from that, it’s got oscars coming from its arse

I'm hoping to see it this weekend @max. I had a feeling the trailer might be focusing a lot on the comedy, but the might be a lot more to it. Even In Bruges had some pretty wild swings from violence to comedy.

No John Wick 2 last night, but ended up watching Raw. Man, were parts of that a tough watch. Great film though, highly recommended. I liked the score, but it didn't make me want to rush out and buy it. I like Jim Williams' previous work.

@ ChrisMcQueen: Nice psychedelic late nigh viewing!
@ Dollar: still need to check it out myself. Can't find the time to fit it all in...
@Chief: no idea about any of those titles... And haven't seen either John Wick.
@Max: looking forward to seeing the billboards myself. Loved In Bruges!
@Chief: Raw is also on my to watch list. Both the movie and score made it to a spot high on some end of the year lists. When I sampled some of the score when it was released it did not appeal enough to me to warrant a buy.

The only movie I watched in the past week was my 4th spaghetti western of the year: Death Rides a Horse. Absolutely loved it. Fantastic revenge movie. Brilliant score!

Interesting looking movie forthcoming from the director of Beyond The Black Rainbow involving Nic Cage, the ever watchable Andrea Riseborough, and chainsaw battles apparently...

Also, it's set in the 'primal wilderness' of 1983.

And... Jóhann Jóhannsson score! BOOM!

No idea why I waited so long to see this again. What a brilliant film. The Synapse restoration is drop dead gorgeous. And that sound! Highly recommended!

No something completely different...

I love L'ascenseur!

Ever since I heard the theme on this comp LP I bought from HMV Megastore when I was about 15.(Look at the lineup on this thing - it's insane! I get major goofy nostalg-o-feels just from looking at the sleeve heh)

It's mad though, I never did pick up the full score until about 6months ago. It's great btw.

Wind River is phenomenal. Gil Birmingham should be getting an Oscar and he only has two scenes

Two of the very best!

I have a very unhealthy obsession with Bad Ronald....it's the flick I've breathlessly tried to describe the plot to more than any other, always leaves the listener with an 'O' face!

Oh and by the way, brother - speaking of 70s horror....

Based on a comment you made here a while back, I think you'll be interested in the next Ondes Positives soundtrack release.... ;-D
